  3. 5.0 Montague Waterfront Marina (1 review)
    - Great Just a great little place...
    Saturday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Marinas
I was on my way to Wood Island to catch the ferry and decided to stop in Montague. It was a good decision. The town has an aura about it and none more so than at the marina where people go about their business in quiet efficiency. There's a park at the marina, boats of course and a beautiful trail at one end. Visitors information is here also. The help and guidance they provided was immeasurable. As I sat enjoying the view, I struck up a conversation with an older gentlemen who said Montague was famous for having the first combined Tim Hortons and Wendy in the world. I was very impressed with the town and the people. I wish i could have stayed longer but that ferry wasn't waiting for me.... See more..

    Sally's Beach Provincial Park image
An hour's drive from Charlottetown, on the eastern side of PEI, this is a pleasant escape from the crowds of the north shore. We went on a hot weekend in June and had the beach all to ourselves! White sand, clean water, clean change rooms, small playground for kids, nice trails along the coast, lots of picnic tables. This is my kind of beach! See more..
  6. 4.5 River Run Dining Cruises (21 reviews)
    - Great informative cruise with great interpretation and excellent music/singer
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM Boat Tours
    River Run Dining Cruises image
We recently went on the river cruise. The food was catered by Windows on the Water, probably the best local restaurant. The boat was equipped with large windows so you felt as if you were outside. The person supplying the soft music through a guitar and singing was excellent. His descriptions of local sites and fishing equipment seen from the boat was informative as was his historical accounts. The seals were seen loafing on a large raft which was likely placed for that purpose. It was a perfectly calm evening which made for a dramatic sunset. It is a little pricey but you are getting a restaurant quality lobster meal. I would not hesitate to recommend the Cruise to friends. See more..
  7. 4.0 Buffaloland Provincial Park (19 reviews)
    - Take a quiet moment!
    Spent < 1 hour Parks
    Buffaloland Provincial Park image
You can drive your car quietly right up to the fence and watch the buffalo as they graze and tend to their young. I always pick up a clump of hair when they are molting. Often they rub their coats against the wire fence. It's hit and miss if you will see them close by, but often in the early evening they are up near the watering area. The lane along the fence is very rough and full of potholes, so drive super slowly, which is also good for the buffalo if they are close. This park is one of the last few places where you can see animals of such majesty and power. Love these guys! See more..
  8. 4.0 Garden of the Gulf Museum (11 reviews)
    - Our Eternal Thanks
    Speciality Museums
Garden of the Gulf Museum image
Our visit to the Museum was the highlight of our visit to P.E.I. We had set out to find our grandparents home and their gravesite. We had spent most of our childhood summers on the Island. Our father had passed away and we weren't sure of where our grandparents were buried. With the help of the Curator, Donna Collings, we were able to get the information we needed. She spent hours with us and nothing, but nothing was too much trouble for her. She also arranged a meeting with The Honorable Lawrence A. MacAulay, P.C., M.P. Cardigan. He and his staff were able to fill in other information on our family. We met an American gentleman in the Museum who also received invaluable information and like us, was able to find his family. We would highly recommend a visit here. you will not be sorry. If you need ANY help on heritage issues, this is the place to start. See more..
