-Best Music..look forward to Thursday evening at The Whalen Barn..
Spent 1-2 hours Concerts • Theaters
For 13 consecutive Thursday evening from Mid June to,Mid September for the 3 years now..there is some mighty fine music coming out of the 96 year old Barn.. It is a small venue..and for those who love all kinds of music this is the place to come.. Terry Whalen host the 2 hour show..he starts promptly at 7:00PM..plays a couple of song & then the rest of the evening is turned over to the Musical guest ( or gusts )@@ of the evening.. They are mostly award winning musicians for the East Coast Martime area.. There have been some appearing at The Barn that live as far away as Nashville..USA. All the money collected at the door..is given to the Artist..performing..that evening..$12 at the door..or you can purchase a season's pass for the 13 shows ( plus sometimes some extras )for $125..)Very reasonable..considering the talent that play. Love, love, love the nightly music! A wonderful civic initiative to bring people out of their homes and down to the wharf......nightly FREE entertainment in the summertime and lots of people up dancing. What a terrific way to spend a beautiful summer evening. Watching the boats in the river, having an ice cream or pizza slice. There is a great playground for kids, complete with water play area and a great boardwalk. Lots of room for your chairs and there are many picnic tables. At the far end, there is a boat launch and area for cars to park and watch the action. Lots of ducks there. And everything (aside from the food) is free!! Way to go, City of Miramichi!!!! See more..
- 4.5 Miramichi River (119 reviews)
-TUBING!
Bodies of Water
I would recommend this activity to any family, couples, friends who want to have a good time with the nature. I would recommend the tubing on this river (two companies offering this activity) in the miramichi area. It is about 10$ an adult, 5$ a child if I am not mistaking but you go down the river (takes about 2 hours) and is very relaxing. You can even bring a cooler on a small tube with you! See more..

-History Museum - Mirimachi NB Canada offers a unique museum with lots of interest for everyone
Spent < 1 hour History Museums
We came across Mirimachi history museum just by chance and admired the building from the outside before heading to see what it had to offer The entry price was very fair and the staff were very helpful and willing to share a lot of what they knew. The building goes back to 1897 and has a large collection of historical artifacts.. we were told that ‘it was one of the most unique museums in New Brunswick’ We were fascinated to learn about the wealthy of history on ship building in the area plus an added bono is to find that there is also a genealogy section. It was worth going .. however check times and dates of opening before you go as it is only open during summer months until September See more..
