Splendid architecture

The palatial Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) of Valencia dominates the square, and its bells chime out the hours. Surrounding the plaza are other buildings from the city's golden age, such as the Correos (the main post office). In the center of the plaza, a fountain is surrounded by flower stalls with all the colors, sizes, varieties imagineable. This is a good starting point from which to visit Valencia's old quarter or today's most fashionable shops.

Splendid architecture
With a centrepiece undoubtedly being the beautiful City Hall, there is so much else to see and enjoy here. Museo Historico Municipal is also worth dropping into within the City Hall and views from the balcony across the whole Plaza are great. Another gorgeous edifice is the grand Edificio de Correos y Telegrafos that originates in a time when post and telegrams were all important. Further exceptional buildings are all around the square while nearby at Avenida Manuel Soto Ingeniero 15 is an exquisite structure from a bygone decade.

Busy Square
This is where City Hall is hence the name of the Square. This is one of the busiest squares in the city and it has a beautiful fountain. In late fall/early winter the city sets up an ice skating ring, so folks can have a bit of fun.
