Wonderful beach

We spent the morning browsing the many shops and boutiques for Christmas presents. Having spent a few hours shopping at Zara, Ale-Hop, Sketchers, Fashion City, Mango and the many independent boutiques, jewellery, souvenir and shoe shops within the narrow alleyways and shopping streets, we headed to the beach. To our amazement the beach was vast and beautifully clean with lovely soft sand and an inviting sea. Luckily we brought throws and suncream, because the weather was boiling. There were sunbeds and umbrellas to hire. The beach was busy but everyone was socially distanced and we sunbathed for a few hours. We then walked along the beach until we came to LA Provisional where pints of lager were €1.50. The bar was busy, so we sat on the edge of the pavement opposite the bar facing the beach. There was a great atmosphere with a choir singing on the beach. We then headed to KMs bar for a late lunch, before continuing with our Christmas shopping.

    Beautiful sandy beach
    We visited Benidorm market for a few hours and bought lots of bargains and souvenirs, before heading to Levante Beach. At the beach we hired sunbeds and an umbrella. The weather was gorgeous and the beach was immaculate with soft sand and no litter. Having spent a few hours on the beach, we headed to Auntie Belles (Av. de Almería, 23, 03503) for a 3 course Sunday dinner with a glass of wine or beer for €9.50. The menu was great with a starter of soup or pate, a main of beef or chicken with all the trimmings including stuffing and a dessert of apple pie, ice cream or chocolate fudge cake. The food was tasty and value for money. We would definitely recommend a visit. After eating we returned to the beach for some sunbathing. Opposite the beach there was a lovely strip of bars and restaurants with a great atmosphere and some lively bars including Daytona and Heart Break

    Nice Sandbeach and very clean sea
    Nice and clean beach, very full though. We didn't expect this many people since the COVID situation but it was alright, we always found a good place and bought a parasol since you have to pay for 5€ per day to have one which isn't a lot but it forces you to take the same spot and we wanted to move around so we bought a big one for 12€ (which is cheaper also if you stay for more days) and left it in the hotel. It was very nice to walk in the sand and the sea was very clean. I would recommend those plastic shoes for the sea, since it has a lot of stones but once you have those, it's totally safe and beautiful and you get to see many fish swimming around you. There's also a possibility to wash away the sand from your shoes and feet which is perfect before you decide to walk on the beautiful promenade that takes you directly to the city! :)
