While visiting Gramado, "Igreja do Relógio" will soon catch your attention: its "Watch Tower" can be seen from almost every single angle of this enchanted town! This Lutheran faith temple honors "Apostle Paul" and was inaugurated in 1961. Its Sunday 9:30 AM cult is said in German. Cults in Portuguese are said on Thurdays and Sundays, both at 7:30PM. I was blessed to attend Sunday Mass at this beautiful church. The setting is wonderful but the warmth and friendliness of the Redemptorist priest on duty was the highlight. Be advised, I took an Uber to get here buts it is not the easiest thing to get an Uber or a cab to pick you up from this semi-rural location. See more..
The Cathedral that's how this church landmark is known. Paróquia Santa Teresa or Vila Santa Teresa was the name of Caxias do Sul before becoming a city in 1910. It is the same Catholic Church from 1800's built in Romanic style. In 2007 it was completed with the tall Bell tower (Campanile) on the side. The street in front is now in an average lower level so there's a unique curve for reaching the Cathedral stairway up. It is in front of plaza Praça Dante Alighieri near the mark zero of the city.
