Great visit!

We visited Lacerta Winery for a wine tasting. First we got introduced to the process of making wine and went to the wine cellar after which the real thing started, to taste the wines! Marian especially provided great advice and shared his knowledge with interesting details. Recommended!

This Winery is Well Worth a Day Trip from Bucharest!
If you like wine, please hire a driver in Bucharest and head to beautiful LacertA Winery! The young winery guide, Marian, spoke excellent English and was outstanding in his presentation---he began with a walk to the vineyard and explained how the grapes are pruned to maximize flavor and size, took us through the immaculate and new facilities, allowed a tasting from the barrel, explained each step of the process from harvest, to fermentation, through bottling, and ended with a generous tasting of 6 wines of our choice. Bread, crackers, olive oil, cheese, and water were on the table during the tasting and the view from the tasting room over the vineyard is amazing. The entire facility is new and is available for corporate events and tour groups, but when we visited, it was a tour for just the two of us. There are picnic tables so it would be wise to bring a hamper of lunch items because there really isn't any restaurant nearby and it is about 120 km from Bucharest. We purchased several bottle of their Cuvee IX wine after the tasting and enjoyed pleasant memories of the tasting/tour as we drank the wine. Many thanks and Kudos to the guide--Marian!
