  2. 4.5 Mont Orford (306 reviews)
    - Great trails with amazing views
    Monday: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM Mountains • Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Mont Orford image
The hiking trails in Mont Orford National Park were amazing and challenging. And the fall colors this year were vivid. If taking a longer trail with any height, keep in mind the trail will require much more elevation increases than is shown (one trail was supposed to have ~625 m elevation increase but I logged 1400 m actual climbing. Also give extra time for the longer trails as they are steep, many with some rock scrambling and will take much more time that a typical forested trail. The faciliies at the base of the trails are also extremely well maintained. During COVID, unless just hiking on the ski slopes of Mont Orford due require a prepaid park entrance fee. You can not purchase (during COVID) at the park entrances (available on line). Amazing trails and so well maintained - all so worth the trip. See more..

This ski resort was great. It was not super busy and the runs were long and nice. Very nicely groomed. Great place for beginners and also more experienced. I was a beginner and I had ski instructors come help me and give me tips for free. Everyone working was super nice and helpful. Very friendly and accommodating. - Beautiful in the summer too!

    Camp Mercier image
We stayed at Lac Noel Cabin #3 for two days this month. It was beautiful and peaceful. Cabins are far enough apart from neighbours so you have privacy. We loved the screened-in porch complete with BBQ for our outdoor, mosquito-free pleasure. The walk down to the pier for our boat was easy, and although I was disappointed we didn't get to see any moose, we did get to watch a beautiful thunderstorm from our porch and make a campfire for roasting marshmallows. The cabin itself was clean, fully equipped for the kitchen, had lots of hot water, electric heat (we didn't need it, but nice to know it is there for other times of the year), and free firewood. Wonderful place! See more..

  21. 4.5 Mont Edouard (30 reviews)
    - Great backcountry powder!
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Mont Edouard image
Really awesome little mountain with great snow. Brilliant development of the backcountry area with cute little refuges - you can rent and spent the night or just pop in to take your lunch. Inexpensive. A bit far away from great centres - but that has the advantage that there are very few people on the hill!! Consider taking a helicopter flight from Baie St Paul to make your trip more efficient. Also consider going with a guide such as Whisjack - based at Le Massif. This is a truly understated mountain and place, very well kept secret and again: awesome snow!!!! See more..
  22. 4.0 Mont Blanc-Faustin (28 reviews)
    - No HS quad or gondola. But still our favourate ski hill.
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Mont Blanc-Faustin image
Once you reach the age when going downhill does not relate to skiing, this is the place! During the week there are no line-ups, there are no crowds, and you can ski without having to worry if a snowboarder throws you of balance. The fact that there are no high speed lifts does make little difference as the number of runs we ski is no longer a function of how fast we can go back up. And for the hotdogs, there is the North Slope with mainly black runs and no green at all. The food on the hill is good and very reasonable priced in a friendly family style atmosphere. We have never stayed in the hotel on the hill, we always stay in Piedmont in a B&B with a gourmet breakfast that is never the same. And for evening enjoyment we like to wine and dine next door in Saint Sauveur where the main street is lined with great restaurants. See more..

  24. 4.5 Luge (24 reviews)
    - What a ride !!!
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Luge image
The Luge was the icing on a cake after two days of skiing Le Massif. The ski patrol crew was very professional beginning with mini-lessons on using the sled, and guiding us down the mountain. Be assured, this is not a crazy, unleashed blast down an icy chute. The track is snow, prepared by the same grooming machines that work on the hills. We were instructed on how to control our speed to make this a safe but very fun experience. Before you know it, you are at the bottom with a huge smile on your face. See more..
  25. 4.0 Ski Mont Gabriel (24 reviews)
    - On a appris faire du ski en UNE heure! We learnt to ski in just ONE hour!
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Ski Mont Gabriel image
Like Magic! To see the kids took just one hour to learn how to ski. The sommat is small with handful of tracks but less people, perfect for people like us who want to try out the sport. The cost for taking the course is an incredible great deal. We took the VIP 3-visit package, all equipment rental included except goggles and clothes. Staff and coaches there are very friendly and professional on spotting where to improve and kin to help. I do ski but not good at it. Within an hour of coaching, I was able to ski smoothly and effortlessly, without any struggling. Monsieur Rock is the person in charge of the mont and he is a very funny and friendly person. We made ski learning trips before to mounts in Asia from Hong Kong through the travel agency. Not only they charged at rocket high price, it was not helping at all. My little one was actually afraid of skiing after that. Now she is crazy about it and kept urging us for the next trip. See more..

  28. 4.0 Sainte Marie Ski Area (17 reviews)
    - Best Skiing Between Tremblant and the Rockies!
    Ski & Snowboard Areas
    Sainte Marie Ski Area image
My wife and I have skied Mont Ste-Marie a dozen times a year for the past five years. As far as we are concerned, it is the only place to ski around Ottawa. There are two excellent mountains each with over 1200 ft vertical. (Fully twice as high as other area hills). Each mountain has a high speed detachable quad lift. Vanier has a number of friendly blue "family" runs as well as a couple advanced pitches. Cheval is a challenging mix of advanced and expert runs - not for the faint hearted! The lodge is spacious and comfortable - with a dramatic view of Vanier - and includes a rental shop, cafeteria and licensed restaurant. Well worth the hour's scenic drive from Ottawa. See more..

This park is located in a rural area off a gravel road. It is well worth the drive to see this park. We had a family gathering there in mid June, and a good time was had by all. The big attraction for us was at the end of a steep trail where we discovered lovely waterfalls. See more..

Station de Ski Belle Neige image
Lineups were short and there were hills for all skill levels; including moguls, jumps and in the woods. For this beginner, we stuck to the "green" level. The trails were nicely maintained. We took both the 4-person and 2-person chairlift with minimal wait and friendly staff. We enjoyed lunch on the terrace, cooked on the outside grill by a very sweet woman. There was music playing in many places, even on the chairlift. There were plenty of hooks for coats and tables for those eating indoors. Renting a locker will cost you $3. The parking lot was empty when we arrived before opening, but packed by mid-day. We will most definitely return! A lot fun! Small hill... but very comfortable and well kept. See more..

In this center, all the people who are working is so friendly and it is really cool place to learn how to ski and snowboard. I haven’t done skiing for 5 years but I got use to it. I really loved this ski hill. We visited on April 1 and the place was empty, so zero wait time at the chair lifts. The "easy" and the "intermediate" hills were perfect for my caliber, giving me plenty of trail options. The trails were well maintained, but of course some got slushy as the morning progressed on this Spring day (+3 degrees Celsius). The chalet is small and the boutique doesn't offer much, but the place was quaint and comfortable. We got to park right by the chalet, ski lift, ski racks... that's how small it is. I will definitely return! Had so much fun! See more..

We decided to start exposing our children’s to skiing and snowboarding. The package they offered was incredible. We reserved online in advance and it was great, we didn’t have to wait in line for the equipment or our instructors. The instructors were great. Unfortunately that day the lift wasn’t working and the kids had to walk up the hill every time which was unpleasant. Also a disadvantage of the beginner hill is it’s connected to the other hills, so as plp come down beginners can collide with them. The restaurant and chalet was really comfortable and set up nicely.
