1st wonder of the world

Amazing trip to this beautiful town on the island of korcula. Evenings full of entertainment, went to see Sword dancing, Kalpa and traditional dance . Also to folk dancing, plenty of restaurants for all tastes,bars and cafes. Wonderful piece of paradise unspoilt. Friendly locals extremely helpful, plenty of trips available, only thing I'd like to see back is the market stalls,as a tourist I like to wander for gifts not buy in supermarkets. Love this island and am looking forward to my 11th year

    Lovely sea line, a nice hike but wouldn't call it a paradise
    I had a hike from Baška harbour to Vela Luka and took a boat taxi to return. The hike was somewhat challenging, but for those who are used to hiking it should not be a problem. There is not too much shade on the way so make sure you have a proper head cover and enough water. The views from the top are outstanding - make sure you pause from time to time to admire them. The bay itself is nice, there is a bar with food and drinks, but is rather pricey. I didn't have any problems with catching a motorboat taxi within 1h from my arrival to Vela Luka. The ride took only 15 minutes at affordable 60kn one way. It's definitely tempting to stay a bit longer in this area - even a whole day. Do also consider checking other small bays on the way, where you can also get by boat taxi.

    Beautiful beach and hike to get there, not a hidden gem
    Beach is beautiful and less crowded than the main beach in Baska, nevertheless still crowded and as such not a hidden gem. You can take a boat taxi from the Baska harbor or hike from Baska on a few different routes (roughly 3 hours). We hiked on the way there and took the route along the beaches and through a canyon not across the mountain. The hike was amazing. You had to climb a few times but nothing challenging or dangerous. We took the boat taxi for the way back and booked it in advance.
