There is a very nice circle route named Korpin kierros in Niivermäki Nature Conservation Area. It is 2.1 kilometers long and starts just behind the shopping center Veturi, 200 meters from K-Rauta Ironmonger's (home improvement shop). You don't need wellingtons (rubber boots), because there are boardwalks on the wettest passages. There is a low observation tower on the trail. If you are hiking with kids, you should be aware, because there is a cliff without a fence next to the observation tower. There aren't any services in Niivermäki (not even dry toilets or waste baskets). So you have to use the services of the shopping center Veturi. Niivermäki Nature Conservation Area is worth of a separate trip but it is also a nice resting place for drivers driving along the highway 6. See more..
