Art museum in Skagen founded in 1908, and exhibiting an extensive collection of works by famous members of the colony of Skagen Painters who lived and worked in the area in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Names include P. S. Krøyer, Anna Ancher, Michael Ancher, Laurits Tuxen, Viggo Johansen, Marie Krøyer and Holger Drachmann.

Amazing
It is an amazingly beautiful museum. For all the art lovers, this museum is definitely something that is truly good. It is not as big as the museums in Vienna, however, the art there is extremely beautiful and you can honestly just mesmerize the paintings for such a long time and get lost in all their breathtaking view. Highly recommend for all the tourists out there, my international friends really enjoyed it and it was a really good experience for all of us.

A short visit followed by something to eat in the gardens just outside made for a lovely afternoon
Small museum, but we enjoyed what we saw. It is definitely a study in the use of light. The gift shop had a lot to offer - including postcards that had just the outline of the more popular paintings, so that aspiring artists can complete them on their own. Step outside the museum for a snack or lunch for a beautiful outdoor dining opportunity among the flower gardens.
