Great day
Enjoy a day in the animal kingdom – GIVSKUD ZOO is only a 25-minute drive from Billund. Take the family on safari in your own car or on the GIVSKUD ZOO Safari Bus. You drive across the African savannah, where zebras and giraffes have right of way. Continue into the Lions' Den and feel the thrill as the big cats lumber past your car. Throughout most of the season, the gorillas, lemurs and other species are fed daily. If you need to take a break, GIVSKUD ZOO has lots to offer the whole family – it's a great place to play, relax and have fun! Visit the teepee camp, where children can bake bonfire bread and pan for gold.Let the children run wild on our huge play area and stroke the goats. And don't forget to see our Tyrannosaurus Rex and the other fascinating giants of the past in our Dinosaur Park. It's the biggest collection of dinosaurs in Denmark. Welcome to GIVSKUD ZOO.

Not your typical zoo experience
With no caged animals (except for birds) and huge areas for the animals to roam freely, visitors are in for an immersive experience of being up close with the animals and observing them at close range. The 'wake up zoo' experience is highly recommended if you want to pet a rhino and feed it apples....amazing! You can also visit by car (a safari-like experience). We visited on foot and one day was enough to visit it all. The dinosaur park was also a lot of fun and not to be missed for little (or older!) dinosaur fans.

Great Family Day Out
A wonderful zoo! You can choose to drive through the zoo, walk around the paths or a mixture of both, which is what we did and I felt gave the best experience. The animals seem to have a lot of room, and you don’t tend to look at them through cages which is lovely. Our 2 year old and 6 year old loved it. Plenty of picnic benches, toilets and play areas for the kids, just overall a lovely family day out (we were comfortably there for 6 hours). If you are walking there are carts for the kids at each of the parking areas that you can use which definitely helps for the tired legs! Special mention to the information boards which were fascinating.
