Aalborg Zoologiske Have, Jutland, Denmark
4.0 (729 reviews) Spent Ranking #3 in Jutland Zoos
Best Zoo in Europe
The Aalborg Zoo is truly impressive. No wonder is considered the best attraction in the city. I went with my family, which included a 7 year old, a 14 year old and my father in law who needed a wheel chair to go around the zoo. The zoo is for ALL ages, we spent the whole day, ate at the restaurant and every area was accessible for my father in law. We saw soooo many animals and we learned a lot. It is open throughout the whole year.

Good, pandemic-proof place to visit
The staff at this little zoo have done an amazing job at making it a pandemic-proof place to visit. Sanitiser is available everywhere, as are signs to keep the distance etc. Yes, most of the food outlets are closed for safety reasons (so it might be a good idea to bring your own), but it makes sense to our safety first. The feedings sessions and shows were cancelled, too - again, very understandable. But they really try to make it work nonetheless, which was much appreciated. Okay, it is not Hagenbeck in Hamburg or Sydney Zoo, but there are plenty of animals for the kids to watch. Ours particularly likes the polar bears (who admittedly put on a nice swimming and fighting show for us!), the goats that you can pet and the kangaroos. Plus a lovely little playground in the middle, and you can bring your own food for the public BBQs. It is a lovely little zoo, and all the signs are in Danish AND English. Well worth a visit, we will definitely come again.

Best family attraction in Aalborg
We've visited Aalborg Zoo many times over the years on visits to family in Aalborg. It's always a holiday highlight. There is a good range of animals to see and the children have always loved their visits, at different ages and stages. There are lots of well designed play areas to keep them occupied. It's fully accessible and even the play areas are manageable.
