Lyo Havn, Funen and Islands, Denmark

4.5 (27 reviews) Spent Ranking #6 in Funen and Islands Piers & Boardwalks

take the time to go and experience this lovely city.

Loved Faaborg, historic for us, husband's great grandfather owned one of the building in the town center. On Saturday morning, very difficult to find breakfast until after 10:.00 however, the bakery is fantastic. Plus we had a lovely walk for nearly an hour, in the quiet and quaint streets, and by-ways. Don't miss the museum on the water, which is the Discovery museum...not the Faaborg Museum (which is great in its own way). Fun and award winning.

    Lyø and Faaborg
Other reviews here are commenting on Faaborg (the town on the mainland) and the island of Lyø, which is an easy 40 minute ferry ride offshore. Both are excellent places to visit - picturesque and relaxing. Particularly good for cycling. The central village on Lyø has a restaurant with outside/garden tables - Café Lyø - Game Skole (old school) which has excellent food, local beers, served by friendly staff - the café alone is a reason to make the trip.

A beautiful old town of Faaborg
Lyo Havn is miss captioned: Lyo is an island close to Faaborg. Faaborg itself is a picturesque little town in beautiful Funen, one of the loveliest and certainly worth a visit together with for example Kerteminde and Svenborg, other lovely old towns in Funen. Walk the old winding streets of Faaborg, visit the old city-centre, the really very good art museum - and enjoy the scenery at the Faaborg harbour (havn).
