Amazing night of baseball! Super fun!!
We enjoyed everything about our visit to the stadium. The local team, Hiroshima Carp, were playing the Tokyo Swallows. The actual baseball was very good, but for us secondary to everything going on around us. The Japanese people are generally reserved in public, but at the stadium they let loose! There was singing and chanting and noise makers banging all night. Nothing was over the top; all was in good fun. They have a really cool seventh inning stretch routine which you need to experience. The whole thing was a blast! If you have a chance to see a game here go for it! Tickets are very hard to get, at least for resrved seats, so try to get them in advance. We used the online ticket service Viagogo and got great seats for not too much money.

Amazing Baseball Experience!
We recently went to see a baseball game here and had an amazing time! I've traveled to nearly every major league baseball park in the US, and never have I experienced an atmosphere like I did here. We saw the Carp win the second game of the 2016 season 3-1 over the Yokohama BayStars. It was so neat to see the visiting teams fans all in the upper deck cheering when there team was up to bat, but the place really came to life when the Carp were up to bat. The band leading the cheers of the hard-core fans with their flags waving, doing all of their choreographed moves and such was so neat. When the Carp scored, watching the entire stadium waving around their little noise making bats all together was also neat. We purchased some jerseys for our kids before the game in what was the busiest team shop I have ever seen, along with the thunderstick noise makers allowed our kids to feel a part of the crowd. Also, make sure to buy some balloons for the 7th inning stretch so you can participate in that too! The lower section on the 1st base side was in the shade the whole game which wasn't ideal since it was so cold out, but I assume this would be great during the warmer months. If you are going in the early spring when it might be cold, sitting on the 3rd base side is advised. Overall, an AMAZING experience watching the Carp in Japan!
