Living History
We were very surprised by how well preserved and enjoyable this attraction was. After the hike up the hill we entered the main part of the castle. With its circular construction and many arches on the upper level it is a visual delight. There are several museums, one of which tells the story of Palma through interesting multilingual displays. Once you reach the roof you can enjoy 360 degree panoramas of the area, including fantastic views towards the cathedral. At €4 pp this is a very good value attraction. Buses 46 and 47 from/to Palma serve the castle, but be aware you either have to walk up about 500 steps from Place Gomila or long slopes from other bus stops. There is parking for cars, a few taxi ranks (but no taxis), decent toilets. When we visited in February there was no cafe and no option to buy food or drink on the site.

No taxis to get you back to your hotel
Nice castle to visit! Free admission to Americans. Use the free audio guide to give you more in depth information. The biggest negative is no taxis in this area….We waited over 30 minutes and no taxis come up here. Suggest not to come without a way to get back to your hotel.
