We did a private tour with Tien and had an amazing time! He was so thoughtful, would get us local fruits to try, and genuinely loved the people and his showing us his country. He was fantastic as a guide and would slow down before a crazy blind turns and let us know what we would encounter next on our route. It was well worth the money to have a guide to ensure safety, not getting lost, and he knew so many locals and how to navigate hiccups. Absolutely wonderful and we plan on coming back and doing it all over again. This trip shows you the real Vietnam. Unless you enjoy the drinking backpacker crowd, private tour is the way to go. The only negative is that the accommodations were also at the same locations as the large groups and even though we had our own room, we had a communal bathroom on one night (ewwwwwwwww). See more..

We couldn’t have asked for a better experience doing the Ha Giang Loop with Mr Hung Vietnam Tourism. We sent him a WhatsApp message after finding his phone number in the forum section, and straight away we were treated with efficient and professional service. Mr Hung allowed us to stay in his hotel for free the night before the first day, and he even gave us free breakfast in the morning. We chose the Easy Rider option as we had never ridden motorbikes before, and we felt completely comfortable the entire time with Mr Hung’s riders. We were equipped with all the necessary gear. The itinerary was brilliant, the home stays were great and we thoroughly enjoyed the karaoke and drinking the happy water on an evening with Benji and his team. All the food was paid for and we ate regularly and never got hungry at all. A brilliant experience and one we will never forget - thank you for such a well organised and professional trip! See more..

We had a wonderful 4-day-trip with our guide Eagle! He is a local guide knowing the north and told us so much about the region, the history and funny facts. He invited us to become a part of the vietnamese community. The homestays, the food and the journey were great. Eagle trade us individually and we had a lot of fun! He was always patient and if we wanted a break or rest somewhere longer it was no problem. The tour we have booked, was organized with scooters (no seprate information on the tour description) but it wasn‘t a big trouble. We went on a 4-day loop with easy riders and it was fantastic! It was my first time ever on a motorbike, but Nien and Quin are both such fantastic riders, that it only took me a couple of hours to get used to it and feel safe. We had plenty of stops in breath-taking spots both for pictures and to rest. Nien is a great guide, but also a super friendly and funny person, he answered all of our questions and made sure that everything on the tour was perfect. He also made sure that we were safe at every point on the journey and it didn't feel for one second that we were taking any risks. The homestays had everything we needed (private room, hot shower, WiFi, etc) and there was always plenty of food. I totally loved it and I would do it again in a heartbeat! If you are going to do one crazy and amazing thing in Vietnam, make it this one! See more..

We did the Ha Giang 5 day comfort car tour with YESD. The experience was something very special and a definite highlight of our trip to Vietnam. We loved the opportunity to see the spectacular landscapes in they very north of the the country. Also the opportunity to meet local people and minority groups. YESD organise these trips with responsible tourism always at the forefront of their minds. Trang was extremely helpful in organising our tour and spent a lot of extra time trying to find accommodation for us in Meo Vac as these was a marathon on the same weekend. Ti (Huan) was a superb tour guide and taught us so much about the culture of the minority people we met and stayed with, the landscape and farming practices….and of course the food! So knowledgable and very thoughtful throughout. We really enjoyed the experience of eating like the Vietnamese do for a few days - so many enjoyable dishes, great company and welcoming hosts. The landscape was some of the most stunning we have seen anywhere in the world. The corkscrew roads of the mountains and valleys were adeptly navigated by our great driver Huan. Highlights for us included the stay with Mr Thien and his family on the first night, Ma Pi Leng Pass scenery, the meal on the last evening with the Dao family hosts we stayed with. We would highly recommend this trip and YESD as a way to properly experience North Vietnam - its culture, peoples and landscape. See more..

Our guide Su was excellent at his job going above and beyond to ensure it ran smoothly, which is no little accomplishment given the highly unpredictable nature of mountain weather, road conditions and breakdowns. Our tour group had some amazing people and I made lasting friendships. The price might be higher than other tours, but it was completely worth the premium for a well-organised trip that most importantly supported local businesses and families. Not only do they make sure you’re completely comfortable on the semi automatic bikes before leaving, but you also get all bike prices included with fuel and protective gear if you want to wear it. We took the pass from Đồng Văn to Mèo Vạc and found it a beautiful journey throughout. Highlights were the view closer to Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc towns. We are a small, family run hostel, located at the very start of the Loop, a few minutes from Ha Giang city. We offer our guests 3 or 4 day trips with experienced, local guides, either with a car or a motorbike.
