   Mary our tour guide brought us to her village to see the local way of life. It was such a great experience for all of us (from 14 years old to 80 years old). Some of us get to cycle around the village while I get a ride on the motorbike with Mary. The folks ride in the bus. All are taken care of. We get to pick vegetable for our lunch at Mary’s auntie farm, feed fishes at her dad’s fish farm, see chicken at her uncle’s chicken farm and also make some incense at her auntie’s hse. A variety of food for lunch was prepared by her auntie. It was delicious! After lunch we also made our own dessert. What I really enjoyed about the tour is that all of them were very hospitable. Very warm and welcoming. Also, we were the only tourist around. So it’s perfect to see the other side of Vietnam at a slow and relax pace. Thank you Mary for bringing us around.    I was in Bac Ninh short before Tet. It was a stressful time for me and a friend of mine "sent" me to Stillwater Spa. And it was a great time. It was time when everyone wanted to go home ealier, but the staff was still very helpful and patient. Among many suggestions, I chose "Body massage with herbs therapy". I love the smell of the hearbs, together with the massage it made me completely relaxing. The Lady (I was so bad at remembering names), talked to me so soft and understanding. I think it's what I need for a spa: not a luxury, but comfortable place - where I can for short forget everything and treat myself well... For sure I highly recommend you to visit this spa.    We just spent 3 days in Hanoi on an organized tour and had a free day so we booked a trip to the rural village of Tho Ha. A small village about 1 1/2 hours drive from Hanoi. It was a highlight of our time in Viet Nam! After the drive into the countryside, the village can only be reached by a small ferry and the people produce mostly rice paper, rice wine, and other rice foods. Hardly any tourists go here so village life is unaffected by visitors and everyone was so friendly, especially the children! During our walk in the village we were introduced to many village families and saw many of the different rice products being made in the village including making circular rice paper for spring roles....a tedious hand-made process that has remained the same for generations!!!    Situé au bord de la rivière Cau, à 60km de Hanoi, le village de poterie de Phu Lang conserve une beauté simple et l’ambiance paisible qui existent rarement dans les villages artisanaux au Vietnam actuellement.
   Phu Lang est réputé par tous types de vases, des urnes funéraires et certains objets de décoration, bien appréciés par leur rusticité et rugosité. Ici presque toutes les familles font de la poterie et encore à la main. Des fours à bois sont toujours utilisés pour la cuisson malgré que le gaz aie fait son apparition.
   Moins commercial que celui de Bat Trang et encore très authentique avec paysage calme et les habitants vraiment sincères, ce village me fait plaire parfaitement et je vous le recommande chaudement.
