   This hotel is only an hour and a half from Hanoi so most visitors come and play golf and leave the same day which means the hotel is often empty making it nice and quiet.    I've now done this hike twice. The first time I did it, was sunny and beautiful - before COVID. This time, it was rainy and COVID time. This time around, there were only a few other people around. Like most mountain "hikes" in Vietnam, this is actually a massive stone staircase. So, when it's rainy, the stone can be quite slippery. Also, the very top of the hike is actually a Viettel cell phone tower which is technically off limits to guests. The last time I was here, the staff allowed us in to get a view from the top. This time, we were not allowed it. (Viettel is owned by the Vietnamese Army.) There are a few small overlooks you can access from the path - and, if you want, you can cut oer to this path from the pagodas. See more..
