Things to do & places to visit in West Palm Beach, Florida, United States

West Palm Beach cover image
With sunny skies, nearly perfect year-round weather and a range of outdoor and cultural attractions, West Palm Beach presents the ideal setting for a weekend escape. Enjoy a game of golf at a number of pristine local courses or hit the beach for a day of tanning and catching up on your reading. See African chimps and endangered species like the Southern White rhinoceros wander free in a natural habitat at the Lion Country Safari. You could spend an entire day on Peanut Island, a popular tourist attraction that houses a bunker built for President John F. Kennedy during the Cold War. The island includes the bunker, a museum and plenty of picnic areas, plus biking and walking paths. The ferry ride to the island cruises past the opulent mansions of the city's wealthy residents. For those who prefer indoor endeavors, the Norton Museum boasts an exceptional collection of American, Chinese and European art. Famous performers appear at "The Harriet" and at the Kravis Center. Of course there's always shopping, the city's other favorite pastime. From designer boutiques to big name department stores, West Palm has it all.

They segways are equipped with headsets so you can hear him. You get views of palm beach you wouldn't see on your own and awesome stories to go with it! You also make a stop at the sculpture garden and library. We were a group of 5 - 2 Adults, 3 kids - 11, 13, 16 - all had prior Segway experience. West Palm Beach Food Tours image
We experienced our first tour with WPBFT 6 years ago and loved it so much, we booked again on our recent vacation to West Palm Beach! Due to poor planning on our part, we waited until last minute to book for a party of 9! Sadly (for us), the food tours were sold out. I reached out to Kristl to see if they could create a last minute private tour and they were able to accommodate us and add a few more to our group on a day that they do not normally book tours. Kristl was so accommodating, communicative and lovely to deal with. Our tour guide, Anna, was amazing! She was engaging, funny and kept us on track the entire time! Each restaurant was a delight and ranged from simple servings to showing us how Columbian coffee is made to how to properly cut a coconut open! You will NOT be disappointed (or hungry) after any of their food tours! See more..

I didn’t see much wildlife, probably we were walking too fast and it was mid-day. They did have a “Wanted wild boar” and explained why and how they got there and they were 250 lbs.. but no number to call if I found it.. (invasive species) so glad I didn’t see any. I did see a few of the area birds. Great to be able to see the grasslands, swamps and wooded areas. Yes, it’s FREE. See more..

Attractions are just awesome. We visited the park on the 4th and it was crowded. But the wait was not too bad. For the most popular rides, it was 30-45min wait time. The park itself is very big and has several attractions for all ages. Lockers are available for $15. But they return $5 back if you return the locker keys safely. Lifeguards are always on duty and are attentive. All the attractions were open to enjoy! Parking is available for a charge. Super fun and can't wait to go back. Highly recommend! See more..
