  6. 4.5 Replay Amusement Museum (157 reviews)
    - Penny arcade☺
    Monday: Speciality Museums
    Replay Amusement Museum image
Entering the doorway, I passed through a time warp. I was young again, thinking of my brother playing games on pinball devices (these are not machines). A century ago, a collection of these devices at amusement parks, such as New York’s Coney Island, were called penny arcades, because the cost to operate the device was a penny. A few years ago, I discovered in the San Francisco Fisherman’s Wharf district such an amusement museum, Musee Mecanique. The flashing lights and mechanical binging sounds and whistles bring to mind lyrics from 1969’s “Pinball Wizard” by The Who: “Ever since I was a young boy/I’ve played the silver ball/From Soho down to Brighton/I must have played ’em all.” Stroll down memory lane. Check out the Coke bottle dispenser from 70 years ago (depicted in the accompanying photo). Watch “pinball wizards” hone their skills. It costs nothing to watch, not even a penny☺ See more..
  7. 4.5 A. L. Anderson Park (138 reviews)
    - Late afternoon walk
    Parks
    A. L. Anderson Park image
The park is very well maintained from parking, pavilions, paths, tables and grounds. There is a walking path from pavilion one to the back end of park. Through trees and on a Boardwalk along lake. The are out cropings from path with tables to sit right by waters edge. Very peaceful walk with nice scenery. Great place to picnic also has a launch point for boats. I was able to spot four alligators in the lake on my visit. There is swings for kids and ample trash cans around to keep park clean. Not a long walking path maybe 1/2 mile at most so hiking is not happening here. This is a relax, see view, go for a stroll hang out and have picnic place. Does all that very well. See more..

    - Put Craig on your list☺
    Spent < 1 hour Parks
    Craig Park image
From Chamber of Commerce and Pinellas Ave, go west, young person, for two blocks along West Tarpon Avenue. Craig Park has a grand staircase descending to the bowl-shape basin containing the bay. The park also houses Heritage Museum and War Memorial, as well as green space for picnics and relaxation under towering palms or gracious Live Oaks (quercus virginiana). In early June, more manatees lazed in the water than humans in the park. For those with limited travel budgets—like me—Craig Park is a must-see Tarpon Springs site. There’s a bonus that costs nothing: Walk along Spring Boulevard to admire restored magnificent mansions, depicted in the accompanying photos. I felt as though I was on the HGTV set for ‘Rehab Addict’ or ‘Bargain Mansions.’ See more..

Then we were invited next door to witness the largest Bible collection In The World. This is a tour for young and old alike. Admission is on a donation basis and we left what we were lead to. The Cultural Center was built in 1915 as the first City Hall. Renowned architect Ernest Ivey Cook designed the building in the neoclassical style. In 1987 the city government decided to move its offices to the former Tarpon Springs High School building, and plans were made to convert City Hall into a cultural center. The City of Tarpon Springs successfully renovated this important historic site, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. See more..
