- 5.0 Northfield Vineyards Winery (25 reviews)
-A Lovely Winery
Saturday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
We stopped here on a recommendation from Calfkiller Brewery! They offered 3 tastings for free but my group did a full tasting for $5 per person. North field has a lovely selection of wines and ciders, and I would definitely recommend tasting all of their offerings. After the tasting, we ate lunch on the property (we brought our lunch - they do not sell food) and had the pleasure of dining with Bo, their beautiful Great Dane! They have beautiful grounds surrounded by fields and horses and we lived eating there. The gift shop had a selection of cheeses and local food products like honey and salsas. Everyone was friendly and we loved our stop here! See more..
- 5.0 Virgin Falls State Natural Area (17 reviews)
-Not for buffet people
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Waterfalls
If you are reading this review with a Twinkie in your hand this hike is not for you. We hiked to the main falls in about 3 hours with a 50 lb pack. The hike is full of ups and downs with large rocky steps. Don't be a sissy and stop halfway at the large cave laurel falls. It's a good resting spot but your almost there. Bring a tent, bedding, water and food so you can stay overnight. You will have the falls to yourselves. Climb to the top and go back into the cave the water comes out of. Feels like an a/c unit. Stretch a hammock across the trees in front of the falls. This place is great but you got to earn it. There are places to build a fire and spots to camp at top but we slept at the bottom because it's 15 degrees cooler. See more..

This place was great. They had pottery by several different potters as well as jewelry, bags, hats & scarves. The prices were very reasonable. - 5.0 Lost Creek State Natural Area (1 review)
-Remote and baeutiful
Spent 1-2 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
Lost Creek Falls is one of the attractions here. It's remote yet somewhat easy to find. A very small parking lot and a .2 mile hike down to the base of the falls. We were there when the fall colors were near peak. BEAUTIFUL! Just across the trail from the falls is Lost Creek Cave which was closed due to hibernating bats. It's one of the larger caves in Tennessee with seven miles of mapped passages. Recreational access is allowed during other times of the year, but a no-cost permit must be obtained from the Nature Center at Fall Creek Falls. See more..
- 4.5 Burgess Falls State Park (486 reviews)

- 4.5 Sparta Rock House (19 reviews)
-Family heritage
Spent < 1 hour Historic Sites
Very proud to say my great grandfather built these two house in Sparta. Everytime we go through we know Great Grandpa Hickey blasted the rock himself and carried the rock down the mountainside on an old mule he built both these structures and my grandfather Charley O Hickey was born in one of the houses in 1903. A lot of my heritage and family members of the Hickey family are buried in Black Oak cemetery nearby just outside of town See more..
- 4.0 Sunset Rock Overlook (17 reviews)
-A Beautiful Overlook with Convenient Parking
Lookouts
My husband and I stumbled upon Sunset Rock Overlook en route to Ruby Falls and stopped to take in the view. The overlook has a beautiful view of the green hills! We returned the next day to take in the view a bit more and to drone in the area. While there, we met someone from the Chamber of Commerce who gave us some great recommendations for stops in the area and recommended Welch's Point as a better option for sunset so we didn't take in sunset here, but the daytime view was pretty too! - 4.0 Wildcat Falls (9 reviews)
-Found Falls
Spent < 1 hour Waterfalls
Did not know about these falls when I did my trip planning but then saw in the scenic byways guide we would go right past it on our way to Sunset Rock. My wife is a real wildcat- by alma mater and in bed- so we had to stop. It had been storming for a couple days so the falls were really flowing. There is a highway sign and plenty of parking on the uphill side of hwy 70. If you miss it, turn around when safe and go back. I wouldn't attempt to do what some others have suggested and walk from Sunset Rock although it's not that far because it is too dangerous with all the traffic. See more..
