This is great to do in combination with Coquina beach; we parked at the beach (free) and crossed the street to this park. It was a relief from the crowds and there was quite a lot of shade to rest in. Bring mosquito repellent though. There's a picnic shelter at the entrance (no barbecue). It had rained the day before and some boardwalk were flooded but we stopped at several lookouts for different views. We saw plenty of little crabs too. See more..

Despite the red tide, the beach experience was awesome. Water was clear, sun was out, sand free of trash and mostly free of sea debris. The Cafe was a little pricy, but the menu was extensive and offered something for everyone. Parking was easy. Showers and changing rooms were easy to access. See more..

This was one of the highlights of our trip! So much to see and do along Pine Avenue, and plenty of lunch and dinner options and ice cream and treats. Our favorite shops were: -Shiny Fish: stop in for an ice cream mochi bubble and paint your own sand dollar!!! Owner is SUPER nice and will do everything possible to make you happy and comfortable. Lots of reasonably priced goodies -Three Island Monkeys: another very nice store owner and lots of good souvenirs. Highlights were local prints and paintings by local artist. -The White Egret and Egrets Nest: Not sure if these are affiliated or just next door to one another but they were beautiful and I wanted one of everything! They're technically on Gulf near the intersection of Pine. See more..

    - Relaxing place to take a stroll, eat and shop

    Bridge Street image
Bridge street is a small area with restaurants and shops. The bridge has a pier with a view of the small marina and the bay, and it is worth a look. We walked around an hour or so and had some coffee at the little coffee shop. There is a fairly large surf shop with quite a bit of clothing and gifts. What struck me about Bridge Street is that the vibe really matches the vibe of Anna Maria Island.......quiet and understated. We found the entire island to be largely unspoiled by tourism.....though there are a a lot of tourists. This is a quiet, relaxing island; and Bridge Street matches it perfectly. See more..
