Terrific experience for my kids (12 and 14) and me. We are certified divers but not very experienced and Caritino was exceptional and very focused on making sure we had a good time and were safe. We all enjoyed the 2 dives and the experience has led us to seek out more diving in other places to which we are traveling, although I’m not sure we will find anyone as attentive and helpful as Caritino. Terrific experience and highly recommended. See more..

  13. 4.5 Playa Mar Chiquita (293 reviews)
    - Awesome snorkeling, cool rock exploring, calm waves for relaxation
    Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Beaches
    Playa Mar Chiquita image
Gorgeous, calm beach! We went during the day on a weekday, and there were a few locals around, but not many people, which was nice. We enjoyed exploring the rocks and natural pools there (watch out for sea urchins in those) and relaxing on the beach. We brought snorkeling gear with us and that was a really unique and fun experience! Definitely worth your time, it's very safe as long as you stay away from the mouth where it connects with the ocean. I would check current reports before going, because the calmer the waves, the better snorkeling experience you'll have. As it was, we still got to see quite a bit. You can rent an umbrella there for $10 but there are plenty of trees for shade. See more..
  14. 4.5 Hacienda La Esperanza (57 reviews)
    - Come for the history, stay for the Satos
Friday: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM Eco Tours • Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
    Hacienda La Esperanza image
All Por La Naturaleza tours are spectacular, but I gotta give it to the crew at La Esperanza. Veronica, our guide, contextualizad the experience through a CRT lens, emphasizing the role enslaved PRicans had in the history of the Hacienda. I grew up in PR and I consider myself knowledgeable about the history of my peoples, but at no point in a classroom was this discussed so honestly and frankly. The grounds are kept magnificently and they did an amazing job restoring La Casa Grande after Georges. And the adopted satos on the ground only added to the experience. See more..

Ana & Carlos went above and beyond for our group the entire time we were in Puerto Rico. Being there for an athletic event in San Juan they were very flexible in knowing we couldn’t commit to finished times. They always wanted to assist us to make sure we were safe and understood where we were going. Communication was top notch from the minute we landed to the time they returned s to the airport. An athlete needed medical attention and Carlos was willing to go into the hospital to make sure everything went ok. There dinner recommendation was amazing. We will certainly contact them if we are ever back in Puerto Rico See more..

  26. 4.0 La Poza de las Mujeres (15 reviews)
    - Fun in the sun with Kids
    Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Beaches
La Poza de las Mujeres image
Just went this weekend. Beach was accesible, no floods in the area. I arrived early before 10am. There are still locals that will watch your car and direct you to parking for a tip. Theres even someone renting umbrellas. In order to access La cueva de las Golondrina you must go to the beach, to la poza, on the left hand side where the rocks are, you will notice cement stairs, go up and follow the trail. when in a form veer right and follow your internal gps, or bring up google maps on your phone to have a sense of direction. its a ten minute walk on the trai, unless you stop for pictures. Both spots are beautiful. Depending on the time of year the current will reseed and folks have access to walk into the cave of golondrinas. But not during winter months, currents are rough. Great day with my kids, had fun exploring, playing in the water, seeing fish with snorkles, and finding hundreds of hermit crabs. See more..
  27. 4.0 Manantial de Guayaney (1 review)
    - Beautiful & Relaxing
Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Bodies of Water
    Manantial de Guayaney image
It was a little hard to find but if you put in your GPS Manantial de Guayaney it will take you to a residential road called Calle de Guayaney...there is a vacant lot next to house #500. We parked there (pic attached) and walked past that house and to the left after it, you will see a walk way with a heart sign on left. That is where we took the trail 15 min in. There is a small patch of water 10 min in but it is not this one. Keep walking and to the right you will see the path has an opening to the right wherw you kind of climb down to get to this location. Its not horribly hard just wear shoes and not flip flops. Water is gorgeous! So clean...again as most say "dont throw trash" keep the water clean and dont pee in it either. Its beautiful and should be preserved. So peaceful! Weather was perfect and though the water is cold, its not ice water. You will be fine. You will want water shoes / crocs on because the rocks are sharp. Enjoy See more..
  28. 4.0 Piscinas Naturales (1 review)
    - Amazing but tricky to get to
    Friday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Beaches
    Piscinas Naturales image
These are amazing and to say they are off the beaten path is an understatement. But once you get to them, they’re beautiful and different from other beach experiences and sights. We got there with google maps, but once there the entrance was a mystery! We spoke to a local who directed us to an entry way about ten feet to the left of the gate where google maps shows the locations as. So you have to park your car and walk in through the small entrance and walk across a long field. The path is visible and will show the way. As you get closer to the end you’ll see a fork, to the left is a beach (which is very nice) and to the right is a dirt road with greenery... the latter is the way to the natural pools. On that path you’ll have to find an entrance through the bushes which again has a path that’s (somewhat) visible. You have to walk through the mini forest and climb a rock at the end and once you see the rock you’ll know you’re at the top and will be able to see the ocean, a beautiful view but you’re not there yet... you have to then walk to the right through very dangerous and pointy rocks. If you have sneakers or water shoes it should be easier. You’ll see two natural pools and again, have to be very careful climbing down to them but once you’re there it’s worth it. It was to me at least. Like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I can’t stress enough that you should have appropriate foot gear, I had rubber slides and made it there (and back) carefully but while i was IN the water, I didn’t take them off not to step on sea urchins, but ended up slipping and cutting my foot on a rock and stepping on an urchin with the other foot.
