  1. 5.0 Black pearl Adventures Puerto Rico (33 reviews)
    - A Highlight Of Our Week!
    Boat Tours

We had a great day out! We have been on lots of boats but not a sailboat and it’s definitely a unique and relaxing experience. We started out with a nice sail to a private island. Capt Rafael accompanied us out to a reef for snorkeling and made sure we all stayed together, felt safe and saw the reef life. Our boys loved the boat toys, an inflatable kayak and paddle board. We made multiple rounds taking them out to the beach to hunt for shells. Snacks of crackers, chips, fruit, hummus, and guacamole and a lunch of grilled ribs, fruit, salad and drinks were all provided and totally hit the spot. We were out for over half a day and came back in tired and happy. See more..

    SailCaribe Yacht Charter image
I recently rented a Hunter 33 sail boat for 5 days from SailCaribe Yacht Charter company to sail from Ceiba, Puerto Rico around in the Atlantic and Caribbean to Vieques, Culebra, and Culebrita Islands. The trip was totally perfect! Before leaving the dock, the very friendly and informative employees gave us a lesson is all the boat's particulars and helped load our things onto the boat. The Hunter 33 I rented was equipped perfectly with everything we needed. The linens and beds were squeaky clean and comfortable. We had a spectacular and trouble-free experience with our boat and SailCaribe Yacht Charter. I will definitely use this company again when renting a sail boat out of Puerto Rico. See more..

  9. 4.5 Reserva Natural Medio Mundo y Daguao (25 reviews)
    - A secret beach
Beaches • Nature & Wildlife Areas
Reserva Natural Medio Mundo y Daguao image
To get to this beach, you have to go to Ceiba and then go to the public beach called playa Macho. Park at the end of the parking lot. You will see a clearing in the mangroves and walk thru it like for five minutes. You will get to a beach and keep on walking along the beach until you see a very small beach with white sand, more or less a 20 minute walk in all. The water is very shallow and the place beautiful. This is a wild beach in the sense that not many people know about it. The negative part of this is that it has never been clean, so you will see many plastics in the mangroves...it used to belong to the US Navy and is in the back of Roosevelt Roads, Naval Base. You should wear swimming shoes, because there is a lot of crabs in the water...there is also a lot of small sardines and fishes. Take some drinks with you and please, take away your garbage. See more..

Not cheap, but definitely worth it if you're operating last minute/ don't have any reservations. We actually made our reservations in advanced because all of the carriers through Vieques air was booked.. at any rate, this company runs a tight ship! Loved flying private. We got VIP treatment and everything. See more..

My family and I went to the ferry terminal to buy our tickets for three days ahead and we’re able to with no problem. So the day of the trip all we had to do was show up park and get on the boat. We took the 6 AM and the waters what kind of rough but it was early. I would recommend to sit on the bottom if you get boat sick See more..

  17. 3.5 Island Kayaking Adventure (66 reviews)
    - Not for everyone
    Kayaking & Canoeing
    Island Kayaking Adventure image
This review is separated into two sections. 1, the biobay kayaking at farjado actually deserves 4 stars. We enjoyed the kayaking through the mangroves and then into the lagoon. The experience was mystical and peaceful. I enjoyed it more for that than the bioluminescence. Read on to find out why. Caution #1 - the phase of the moon greatly affects how well you can see the bioluminescence. Full moon is bad for viewing. New moon is great. They put a tarp up so you can block out the light but if you're imagining billions of glowing dots you're just not going to see that here, even I'm the pitch darkness. Just go with the appropriate expectations Caution #2 - its dark to get there and quite far from San Juan. And the last bit was a bit scary driving back, especially afterwards when it was almost 11. Just beware if you're driving on your own. Caution #3 - there are people of all abilities on the tour. This can be somewhat frustrating. 2, island kayaking, which deserves 2 stars We sincerely appreciate island kayaking for getting us in last minute for a trip. However: - we were told that the departure time was 8 and to get there at 7:45. In order to herd as many people in as possible we didn't leave until after 8:30 which meant we didn't start for home until almost 11. - the people were not screened for kayaking and athletic ability. People were spinning in circles, unable to advance. The guides were kept busy trying to rescue people. Everyone made it I think, but it's dangerous because ... - the ratio of guide to client was about 5 boats to 1 guide or 10 people to 1 guide. The water was shallow but still... dangerous at best - the guides looked exhausted - the guides promised info about the bioluminescence but merely stated that it was xyz organism (I forgot the name) and then moved on. Bottom line, I would not recommend this company, and please only go if you know how to kayak. And pay attention to the moon phase when you schedule your trip. See more..
  18. 3.5 Porferry (3 reviews)
    - On Time and Cheap!
    Ferries
    Porferry image
Similar to a previous review, I also found the ferry to be really great despite all the negative stuff I saw online. All the negativity made me so worried that I considered paying the $200 airplane fee to get to Culebra rather than the $20 ferry fee. So glad we took the ferry! We took the first ferry in the morning on Sunday at 6 AM from Ceiba and stayed overnight in Culebra, taking the 7AM ferry back from Culebra to Ceiba the next day. Worked out perfectly! Online it says to arrive 1 hour before departure but I’d say from my experience, arriving at the ferry 30 minutes before departure still gives you plenty of time! Only thing is porferry.com sells a limited number of ferry tickets due to covid, and they don’t communicate when they will release the next batch. So for a few days I was checking the porferry website every couple hours. But so worth it since we were able to snag tickets! Highly recommend! See more..

  21. 3.0 Ceiba Ferry Terminal (64 reviews)
    - Ferry experience: ceiba to Vieques
    Friday: 5:00 AM - 10:30 PM Ferries
    Ceiba Ferry Terminal image
Everything I read online (Trip Advisor and otherwise) mentioned needing to get to the ferry terminal 1-1.5 hours before boarding. We took the ferry from Ceiba to Vieques on a Sunday in November, and this absolutely wasn’t true. It wasn’t the most organized experience, but no need to waste two+ hours of your time getting there early. We purchased ferry tickets ahead of time, including extra ones for our suitcases and our bikes. They checked us in 45 min before departure, at which point we went to a holding area for another 35 minutes. Highly recommend the ferry - it was cheap and fast and enjoyable - but no need to arrive more than an hour ahead of departure. See more..
