Great professional dive center with small group of maximal divers on a boat. I love the breaks at different beautiful beaches in between the dives. Saw even a ‘baby’ crocodile at one. Both dive instructor Kat and Jose are amazing, great briefings and you feel safe. Plus great guides to show you as much as possible under water, we saw seahorse, turtles, the smallest nudibranch I have seen so far (half a small finger nail!), a lot of octopus of which one was a national geographic documentary worth experience with changing colours while teased by two larger fishes poking him… amazing! Definitely will come back and dive with them as I couldn’t go to Contreras this time. Also I recommend to reserve your dive spots at least one week ahead of your arrival through their website. I couldn’t go the first time when I was at Santa Catalina as everything was fully booked already and I came back after two weeks traveling again, this time reserved. See more..

We took two excursion boat trips with this company. The first to Coibo national marine park and the second a private charter to Cebaco island. Both had lovely snorkelling and beautiful Sandy beaches. The company was very professional providing good gear for their passengers and outstanding driving by the boat drivers. We were well looked after and felt very safe throughout both trips. The second trip was exceptionally good with the emphasis on cleaning the beach we were on. As Canadians we were very impressed by the work done by our guide,Antonio, to pick up and remove any plastic bottles / garbage on the island that had washed up. He took the time to provide a large garbage bag to collect anything plastic and bring it back to the office. It is for that reason we would highly recommend this tour company in addition to the aforementioned. We will be back ! See more..

I highly recommend checking out this underrated and relatively unexplored habitat. The mangroves are at once picturesque and a bit creepy (kind of like myself!). Blue water meets the vibrant green of mangrove trees. It's mostly a relaxing paddle, while you scan the water, canopy, and sky for wildlife. I've been lucky to snorkel all around the world and this trip topped them all. Unfortunately the weather in the morning was windy and rainy, so as we motored out to the first snorkeling spot, I was thinking, "This is stupid. How can there be any visibility?" But the boat is big and very comfortable (with a million life jackets), so I figured at least I'd get to see Coiba Island. Btw, this boat has tall, padded seats which was crucial when we were in the choppy seas. (I didn't see this on any other tour boats.) After about an hour, we pulled into the first spot and it seemed like a mirage. The island cliffs blocked the wind, and I was looking at a turquoise lagoon. The water was crystal clear, and our guide, Chure, quickly pointed out two Eagle Rays swimming just off of the bow. This was the start of one of the best adventures I've ever been on. We saw several sea turtles, eels, white tip sharks, an octopus, and schools and schools of reef fish. The staff includes two very enthusiastic young women who speak French, Spanish and English. (I have a feeling they probably could communicate with you in German, Swiss, (and Pig Latin) as long as you speak slow.). Chure is the dive master, and if you are smart you will stay close to him for the whole day. He found an octopus that had cleverly camouflaged herself as a rock on the bottom. I was swimming on top of her in about four feet of water and still couldn't see it until Chure pointed to her several times. You'll eat fresh fruit, drink out of coconuts and laugh a lot. Kevan is always teaching us all about the state of the ocean, the health of all the creatures in the sea, how each dive will be conducted, what we may expect to see. Safety is his highest priority. And his enthusiasm and happy demeanor, with all the seriousness that is also so important, always put everyone at ease. Diving with Kevan is a pleasure I hope many others get to experience. Our family had 2 amazing trips with Pietro and his Spearbaby crew! We saw sharks, sea turtles and tons of fish snorkeling at Coiba. Had a great lunch on the beach topped off with tuna sashimi that we caught on the trip! Our second trip was spearfishing- and our beginner sons speared some big ones thanks to Pietro and crew. A really successful trip- can’t wait to return. Spearbaby was easy to arrange and delivers all it promises and more- highly recommend Santa Catalina and Spearbaby is top quality for sure! We went snorkeling for a day to and around Coiba with Ben from The Other Panama. It was great. The location of the office where you get all the gear you need is ideally right at the beach. Ben had lunch arranged with our dietary requirements. Ben himself also came along and on the way we had some interesting talks about the area, snorkeling, how he got started and experiences. Great guy to talk to. He also came along while snorkeling, showed us the right spots, lead us, dove down to show us things etc. All in all a good guide. The Coiba trip is an amazing tour, one of the best vacation experiences I have ever had. Due to the protected status of the island and surrounding waters the reef fish are much bigger than anywhere I have ever snorkeled and many sea turtles in the area. The camp is very comfortable with raised mattresses in large Canvas tents, a shower with water piped in from a stream and plenty of delicious food. I was a little concerned about mosquitoes heading into the trip but they were not a problem at all, not a single bite. There can be some water splashed into their boats when traveling so be sure to bring dry bags for your camera and binoculars. I just used the dry bag as a daypack for both land and sea activity, attaching my water bottle with a carabiner. See more..

We had the best time diving with Scuba Coiba! Herbie, the owner, was one of the first people ever scuba diving in Coiba national park (and his was the first Scuba shop in Santa Catalina). They are for sure the best value dive centre in Santa Catalina, because they allow you to dive for as long as you have air, and then you have longer enjoying the islands around Coiba in between dives. The other dive shops limit dives to 45 minutes, so they’d only get 2h15m underwater maximum, whereas we had almost 3 hours. The team know exactly how to deliver the best trip for divers - particularly Corey who has been diving Coiba for 8 years pretty much seems to be friends with all the critters you’ll encounter underwater. We also did our Rescue Diver Padi course with Ben around Isla Gobernadora which was excellent. Can’t wait to come back to dive with the team one day for a Hammerhead encounter! See more..

Great day trip but agree with many others, you don’t really experience Coiba but the snorkeling. There was a croc at the beach we are at but I think that the tour guides must feed it to make sure it appears for the tourists. We were getting stung by what I assume were sea lice and my girlfriend got a bad skin reaction. I love being on a boat so the long ride was pleasurable for me. I’d recommend it and would do it again. Michael and his team (Adam + Calli) were absolutely fantastic for the 3 day, two night campling/kayaking/snorkeling trip. We asked to join a trip at the last minute and by adding two of us, meant they put the trip over capacity by one person. Michael went above and beyond to add provisions for us and to arrange additional transportation. The food was awesome, the equipment (kayaks, tents etc.) were all like new and in great shape. The combination of kayaking, snorkeling and relaxing was perfect. I highly reccommend Fluid to anyone interested in exploring the amazing region of Santa Catalina and Coiba.
