Ebony Forest, is a refuge for threatened native flora and fauna. Visitors will be treated to open-air safari jeep rides, breathtaking views from Sublime Point and mid-canopy walkways. Book your Guided Safari jeep ride through our Take a Drive Tour or Take a Hike Tour through our unique forest. Our Reserve is on the same way as the Seven Coloured Earth. However it is not necessary to purchase a ticket for both the Seven Coloured Earth and Ebony Forest. It is possible to buy a ticket only for Ebony Forest. See more..

-Two Day's Trip, Great experience
Sunday: Scuba & Snorkelling • Taxis & Shuttles • Swim with Dolphins • Boat Tours • Private Tours • Dolphin & Whale Watching • Day Trips
Taking the Tour in two days (you need a whole day for the Ile Aux Cerf) will be best. My favorite was Ile Aux Cerf, but the 7 Coloured Earths was also interesting. The latter involves a trail from the Coffee Plantation, all the way to Ebony Forest, where almost mid way you have a choice to do a very short trail up to Lavilleon Natural Forest. At the 7 Coloured Earth Reserve, you will have a chance to see these massive Turtles, if you haven't seen them before. They aren't many, we only saw 2 or 3, but if you are with kids, its interesting. - 4.5 Curious Chamarel (1.226 reviews) from $10.34
-2nd visit to this great little place
Sunday: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM Speciality Museums
Curious Chamarel, situated opposite the iconic 7 Coloured Earth, is a fun filled destination for all ages from 5 to 105. The attraction is packed with puzzling challenges and brain teasing workouts, oddball photo opportunities and interactive experiences. It's a place of enigma and curious corners, of silly spaces and upside down places. Cameras recommended. Curiousity, and a willingness to see things differently are a must! Enjoy lunch, with a twist. Try a pyramid pizza or donut burgers and much more in a tropical garden cafe. Last entry at 16h15. See more..
- 4.5 Piton Canot (28 reviews)
-Difficult but great views
Lookouts
We took the pathway from Lakaz Chamarel - the whole climb took us 35 minutes. It’s very steep at times, with challenging rock climbing bits. The ground can be slippery with loose rocks. Apparently there are other pathways up which are easier. Once you’re up the views are just gorgeous See more..
- 4.5 Lavilleon Natural Forest (14 reviews)
-Walk in the forest
Spent 2-3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Forests
We took the tour as a family and despite having a guide that was shy and not very talkative she highlighted the trees and plants that needed our attention. The highlight was the walk to an Ebony tree that fell during cyclone Berguita. This eco tour only recently opened to the public and has tremendous potential. So good luck to all the team and wish you all the very best for the years to come. See more..

- 4.0 Rhumerie de Chamarel (2.162 reviews)
-A very jolly visit
Speciality & Gift Shops
The weather was poor when we were staying in Chamarel and our visit to the rhumerie was just the job. We walked there from Lakaz Chamarel which took about 20minutes. The tour cost 450rupees each and lasted about half an hour. We waited about 10-15minutes until it started. The guide was very clear, speaking in English for our group of about 15 people. She explained the process, which had more in common with whisky distilling than I’d realised. The tasting at the end was very generous. I think everyone had 6 shots in about 10minutes. There was the option to dump them, but no chance to linger as another shot was soon to follow! There was no compulsion to buy at the shop afterwards, but plenty of opportunity if you wished. All in all, just the thing for a rainy day! See more..
