- 5.0 Dodi's Lemur Tours (74 reviews)
-Madagascar is fun with the right guide and good organization
Sightseeing Tours
I had also very good experience with DODI LEMUR TOURS. Several years ago I did visit Madagascar with my family and selected Dodi Lemur tours as our guide for Southerns Madagascar. They received multiple recommendations on Trip Advisor and I have to say that they were justified. One day trip was to Nahampoana reserve which is 20 km from the cruise port. Two day trip was to the Berenty reserve. Both of them were exactly what we wanted - lot of nature with plenty of lemurs. Dodi can taylor the excursions based on individual requests/interests. His english is very good and he is also very knowledgeable. The cars are very good and clean. See more..
- 5.0 Nofy-Be Sailing & Diving Madagascar (44 reviews)
-An unforgettable family trip
Scuba & Snorkelling
We are a family of 4 who travelled through Madagascar for 4 marvellous weeks. We loved our many adventures in the country but our 4 nights on the Nofy Be was the highlight of the whole trip. A truly wonderful way to explore the islands, sea and sub-sea around Nosy Be. We will treasure the wonderful memories. Thank you to Fred and crew. See more..
- 5.0 Il Camaleonte (41 reviews)
-An amazing team runs this best-in-class watersports centre in Anakao, sitting by a green oasis on the beach
Saturday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Scuba & Snorkelling • Surfing & Windsurfing • Dolphin & Whale Watching • Kayaking & Canoeing
What a corner of paradise! Anakao is unbelievably gorgeous, and the team at Camaleonte is well-integrated within the community. They speak several languages fluently (English, French, Italian, Spanish, Malagasy, and the local Vesu). They have made me feel at home, and we shared lots of laughter and happy moments. Their gear is top-notch, and they are well experienced in everything that concerns water sports and living in harmony with the surrounding gorgeous nature. They are highly conscious of their environmental footprint, and their beautiful property is a green oasis in the midst of a somewhat dry landscape (with fine white sand dunes just at the back of the village, overlooking the ocean). The coral reef in the area is legendary, and as soon as you get underwater you're hit by a kaleidoscope of colourful marine life. I can't recommend Camaleonte enough, it's a must to visit it if you are ever in Southern Madagascar :) See more..
- 5.0 Mangily Scuba (29 reviews)
-Little treats of Mangily
Scuba & Snorkelling
In honesty, we were not sure what to expect from diving in Mangily. Made 4 very nice dives with Anne, who shows you the little treats of the reef. We liked the “canyons” the most. As a special interlude between the dives, humpbacks were giving a nice show a few hundred meters from our boat! See more..

-Incredible Tsingy & Baobab tour
Sightseeing Tours • Nature & Wildlife Tours
We arrived in Morondava in the off season (late November) with no plans and no real idea how we would be able to get to Tsingy, but Gary was able to get us set up with a driver & 4x4 off on a tour of Tsingy the next day. Gary recommended we stay at least 2 nights in Tsingy, then the third in the Kirindi forest, and to see the Baobab Avenue at Sunset on the last day back, and that was such a great itinerary. The Kirindi lodge in particular was one of the highlights of our trip. If you can, ask for Tony for your driver - he's funny, caring, and all around amazing! See more..
- 5.0 Tsingy tour 04 days (6 reviews)
-Tsingy and baobas
Multi-day Tours • Taxis & Shuttles • Boat Rentals • Hiking & Camping Tours • Private Tours • Self-Guided Tours & Rentals
We spent 4 days visiting a park near Kirindy, Baobas avenue and Tsingy. We really loved the trip and we are very grateful to Naina and the driver for the amazing time together, the flexibility in accommodating our requests on the way to Tsingy (different restaurant for lunch, longer stops for pictures) and for letting us try some authentic tastes (street food and local rhum). In addition, we really lovel Naina taking us pictures during the trip and the accommodation near the Tsingy National Park was very nice! Super recommended! See more..
- 5.0 Yacht ISLAND STYLE - Day Cruise (3 reviews)

The Endless Summer is a comfortable catamaran running charters in South West Madagascar. Waves in this region are world class and uncrowded and Captain Pete will put you right on the spot when it counts. In between swells there's great fishing, snorkelling and interesting natural sites and cultures to see. Endless Summer is the perfect platform for exploring this incredible region. See more..
- 5.0 Betania Fishing Village (1 review)
-Very Traditional Fishing Village
Spent 2-3 hours Points of Interest & Landmarks
This little village is just a short (10min) canoe ride across the river from Nosy Kely. Very traditional living. See life as it really is for the local Madagascans. Housing, fishing & life is virtually uncorrupted by western society. Hospitality is very friendly and welcoming. See more..
- 4.5 Avenue of the Baobabs (761 reviews)
-Incredible place for photography!
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas
Absolutely beautiful destination, which is a must see. The sunrise and sunset (and the night time) is absolutely beautiful and makes some incredible photos. The road to get there is very bumpy, but it’s all part of the adventure. We hired a tuk-tuk driver to take us there and back from Morondava for 80,000 ariary. There is a restaurant just next to the avenue which serves really great food See more..
- 4.5 Antsokay Arboretum (156 reviews)
-Very nice tour
Saturday: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM Spent 1-2 hours Gardens
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour of arboretum and small museum (about 1 hour). The local tour guide did a great job describing all the plants/trees they have and answering questions. He spoke good English. It was great to see such a wide variety of plants from area. They had lots of displays of the birds and animals in the area. You also go into a small museum where you can see artifacts from local tribes and bones, skeletons and fossils from wildlife in the area. Tips: Arboretum is outside so bring and hat/sunscreen It was very warm when we were there so bring some water Restaurant is very good also See more..
- 4.5 Reserve Reniala (123 reviews)
-So much to learn about trees
Sightseeing Tours
In this reserve there are a lot of trees indigenous to the typical desert landscape. The guide was excellent and could tell us a lot about the different trees, which medical benefits of other benefits the trees had. We also saw different wild animals in the park. If you want some peace and quiet when you take your baobab pictures, this is the place to go. See more..
- 4.5 Nahampoana Reserve (106 reviews)
-Beautiful and peaceful nature reserve located 40 min from Fort Dauphin-highly recommend!
Nature & Wildlife Areas
A lovely half day trip filled with nature-definitely a highlight of my 5 days in Fort Dauphin. Knowledgeable guide, beautiful and peaceful 50 acre nature reserve where I saw 4 species of lemurs—sifaka, ringtail, bamboo and brown lemurs, as well as chameleons and a kingfisher. I also enjoyed learning about many plants from Mada. After the 2 hour walk and short boat tour, I enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch at a picnic table set in a peaceful grove of litchi and mango trees. Lovely, hospitable staff. They also have 5 bungalows for rent that are rustic, but very peaceful. Location was about a 40 min drive from FD on a dirt road, which you definitely need a 4x4 to reach. See more..
- 4.5 Lokaro Beach (58 reviews)
-Lokaro Beach
Beaches
Lokaro beach is in the Lonely Planet as one of the top beaches in the world and i agree. Just bear in mind it is isolated and you at least need a 4x4 to get there. There are no amenities or anything available apart form what you can buy from the local villagers on the beach. It is perfect when there is no wind blowing. The horseshoe island can be reached by walking over the sand bar but beware of the tides. You must take everything with you for the day including food and drinks. See more..
- 4.5 Zombitse-Vohibasia National Park (37 reviews)
-Small park but worth visiting, less crowded than other parks
National Parks • Parks
This is a small forest on the way from Isalo to Ifaty. It's an easy walk but as its less visited you are almost on your own - which is a different experience I had compared to some of the larger parks. We had some good sightings here of some of the nocturnal lemurs, as well as some undisturbed time with a family of Sifakas. There are some baobabs in the forest too as well as the colourful Geckos. Worth a visit . See more..
- 4.5 Honko Community-Based Mangrove Reserve (20 reviews)
-Little mangrove swamp
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Located on the road between Tulear and Ifaty, this community-based mangrove reserve offers the unique opportunity to take a guided boardwalk tour of southwest Madagascar's mangroves and explore its unique flora and fauna. This site is particularly noted for its wetland bird diversity (at least 37 species)! We offer various guided tours in English, French and Malagasy. Contact us for more info! See more..
- 4.5 Domaine de la Cascade (16 reviews)
-Enjoy the forest!
Nature & Wildlife Areas • Forests
Wonderful place for a day-trip. We like to pack a picnic, take water shoes and hiking shoes. The best place to see the natural forest in the region. Best for sunny day (no rain) so you can walk the waterfall, swim in the natural pool and enjoy the scenery. About 30 minutes out of town, you can get here by car, quad, or taxi. See more..
- 4.5 Atimoo (12 reviews)
-Great diving with Jean Pierre
Scuba & Snorkelling
I turned up in Ifaty with just enough time for a couple of dives. I hadn't been diving for 3 years and wasn't quite ready for the tide on the first day but Jean Pierre managed the situation without making me feel too embarrassed! Second dive through the coral gardens was fantastic! See more..
- 4.0 Kirindy Forest Morondava Madagascar (195 reviews)
-Great Bushwalking, Wildlife Viewing
Spent More than 3 hours Nature & Wildlife Areas • Parks • Forests
I done this as a half day excursion from Morondava, leaving at 0430 - this allowed me to be at the Avenue of the Boababs on sunrise, and get deep into the forest before the temperature got too hot. Was in the forest (as in out of the car bush walking) for about 2 hours and saw a huge amount of wildlife running free; several species of lemurs, snakes, spiders, iguanas, lizards, etc... Wish I had a camera better than my old iPhone.! I missed so many good photos... Tips for you; 1) use a guide from Camp Amourex to escort you round (or you might not come back out). The guide I had, also knew where to look for the little Mouse Lemurs. 2) avoid the midday heat. 3) start early, so as to catch the sunrise at the Avenue of the Boababs. See more..

- 4.0 Parc National d'Andohahela (12 reviews)
-Off the beaten track and tragically undervisted
Parks
This national park has some truly amazing scenery and wildlife; spine forest, transitional forest and rain forest. It can be difficult to get too at different times of the year, and is quite a tricky place to get into. It is well worth it though. I've only been to the rain forest section, and it is stunning. Some of my well traveled friends told me that it rivaled rain forest anywhere in the world. See more..

- 4.0 Parc National de Tsimanampetsotsa (12 reviews)
-best park in madagascar
National Parks
We went to this park on the last part of our stay in Madagascar and this turned out to be our favourite. It is not an easy park to get too but the effort is well worth it. Our guide Jackie was very good and showed great enthusiasm. Our initial view was of a torquouise lake covered with flamingoes! what a lovely view and it was surrounded with samphire. We had some amazing walks and saw the grandmother baobab at 3,000 years old. We also had the added bonus of a family of ring tailed lemurs in the enormous banyon tree with its roots down into a cave. A real treat was to see the blind fish in the cave which are the only ones in the world. What a wonderful park full of many wonderful things. See more..
- 4.0 Ankevo Hamlets (9 reviews)
-For 02 or 04 nights it's OK!
Historic Sites
I went there to experience "Tourism Solidaire". It was nice and full of experience. However, the real claim could be with the cleanliness. It was like camping so far with much more equipment. One night is enough if you are heading to Belo sur mer and at most 04 nights for a local experience! It has a nice beach access! See more..
