   The ancient tomb of Kyrgyz hero Manas, watch mountain and museum. Manas is a hero who saved kyrgyz tribes from kalmaks and tribes from China. You could climb the watch mountain and see the vast valley of Talas, then visit museum to see artefacts, ancient household and military items. See more..

   The Kirov Reservoir is in Talas. Few tourists go to Talas but its is well worth visiting. The Kirov Reservoir has a fantastic bust of Lenin carved into the dam wall. Its quite a site, quite a view and best understood and appreciated by looking at the pictures that follow. Across from the reservoir area is a group of sculptures of workers - very soviet period, quite stark and unique artifacts of a bygone era. The Kirov Reservoir is well worth a visit for those with an interest in Soviet period art/architecture. See more..

   The lake is located at the end of Besh Tash gorge. It’s 45 kms from Talas city: 15 kms to the entrance of the gorge then 30 kms to the lake following the gravel road by the river. The gorge and the lake is incredible. Best time to visit is from end of May till End of September. Because there are not many tourist you will feel yourself in wild nature. Gorge has river and alpine forest. Place is safe for tourists. Best if you go there camping for overnight stay. See more..

   I did not summit the peak but I was there with some friends. We were on bikes and I thought it was a very amazing peak / mountain. I'm not sure if i will have time to summit it but it looks wild! The peak is 4488 m and it's named after the hero of all Kyrgyz people Manas! See more..

   It's easy to get transport from the bazaar in Talas to take you to the border crossing and then you can walk though or drive through and it's easy to get a taxi in Taraz. See more..
