   This is located approx. 2 hours' drive from Bishkek. The terrain is pretty rugged and a round trip hike to the late on top takes between 5-8 hrs (depending on individual's fitness level).    Chon Kemin Valley is located 120 kms away from the capital. It has many gorges and alpine forests scattered on mountains. The valley is very wide and green. There are number of villages along the Shabdan river. One can have horse riding activities either to mountains or along the field.     The Burana Tower is virtually the only remnant of the city of Balasagun, more than 1,000 years old. It makes for some great photos against the mountain backdrop, especially on a clear day.     Great basecamp for adventures on peaks around Ak-Sai glacier. But even the picturesque target for one day return hike. The hut is located at 3400metres and can be reached within 5 hours from Ala-Archa Alplager. It can be the target of your one day hike, or you can use it as the starting point for hikes to local peaks. The cabin offers the beds and bunks in 3 rooms. But you will need own sleeping bag. It’s possible to build the tent at the plateau near the hut, but you will need to pay a fee for the tent. The descent from Ratsek to Alplager will take you approximately 3-4hours. See more..

    Ata Beyit translates as "Grave of Our Fathers." This monument is structured on three levels and memorializes those who lost their lives during various horrific events in the last 100 years. On the upper level is the memorial to those who died in the 1916 Ukran, or Exodus. Over 150,000 Kyrgyz died while trying to seek refuge in China. They perished in the Tien Shen mountains, the victims of dangerous terrain and bitter cold. The middle level is constructed over the site where 137 Kyrgyz intelligentsia were murdered during a Stalin purge in 1938. The site of the mass killing was kept secret until 1991 when it was finally revealed by the daughter of a guard who witnessed it and told her of it on his deathbed. In the rear is a memorial to Chingiz Aitmatov, a famous Kyrgyz writer, who was the son of Törökul Aitmatov, one of the murdered intelligentsia. Sixteen of 89 protestors killed during the 2010 uprising are also buried here. The others are all buried nearby with a separate monument. See more..

    It's a great alpine lake in the Chong-Kemin Valley. It's a nice two day trek from the guest houes in Chong-Kemin. You can take horses or go on foot. Make sure to bring a warm sleeping bag because it can be very cold at night even in the summer. Zhashyl-Kel Lake 3200m got it's name because it looks green. It's a nice alpine like near Bishkek.     This little lake is found in Kemin region and deep in Kungei Ala-Too Mountains. Its best to get a map of the region so you can find the start of the trek. If you plan to sleep at the lake make sure to plan ahead because its at 2000 m and it can get cold at night. See more..
