- 5.0 Ruslan Tours of Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve (19 reviews)
-Incredible mountain family guesthouse not to be missed!!
Nature & Wildlife Tours
This in an incredible gem with the best location in the Zhabagly region. I will rave about this family guest house for years. I visited in early March, the guest house is always warm, the glass windows offer a beautiful view in every direction. The family, including 3 generations, are lovely and very welcoming. The food is delicious, much of which is produced on the property. I wish everyone could come and stay here to experience the wildlife, the mountain sunrises and sunsets. Travelling alone I caught the shared taxi/mashrutka from Aina bazaar in Shymkent. Then transferred in Tyulkubas to taxi who took me further to Zhabagly, I met another traveller and got the taxi driver to take us straight up to the property 7km from Zhibagly town. I organised my stay the day before simply by texting Ruslan, it was all very easy. See more..

- 5.0 Esim Khan Mausoleum (4 reviews)
-Mausoleum of a Kazakh Khan
Friday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Spent < 1 hour Points of Interest & Landmarks • Architectural Buildings
The Esim Khan Mausoleum is located in front, to the left, of the huge Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. It is easy to miss, as it is dwarfed by the larger and more recognised mausoleum. The structure is a simple construction of brick, with a wooden doors with circular designs at the top. Access is not possible, so photos of the structure is the only option. Esim Khan lived between 1598-1645.It is quite strange that he is probably more famous for losing and regaining the title of Khan, than for what he accomplished during his reign. He lost the title of Khan to a sultan in 1614, and didn't regain the title for thirteen years, until after the death of the sultan. He is also famous for being the father of Zhangir Khan, who ruled after his fathers death, and was known as one of the greatest military strategists. We had visited the Zhangir Zhan monument in Kyzlorda. There are many other attractions in the vicinity, including other mausoleums, small museum and old bath house. The local history museum is also not too far away. See more..

Место позиционирует себя как горный курорт. Хотя гор , как таковых ( в моем понимании) замечено не было. Хотя это нисколько не умаляет достоинств этого места. - 4.5 The Intimate Ruins of Sauran (20 reviews)
-The Citadel of the White Horde
Spent 1-2 hours Ancient Ruins
Sauran Archaeological Site turned out to be a surprise hit of our trip to Kazakhstan. It is regarded as the best surviving medieval fort in the country and it is extremely photogenic. We were entranced by the mud-brick fortress walls, the blue skies and the palpable sense of history. If you want everything nicely restored and tidied up, this isn't the place for you. There has been mud-brick restoration on vulnerable parts of the walls, but the old walls are preserved under the recent additions. They haven't been demolished. There is one excavated section in the middle of the fortress which has numerous walls and cells. Again, new bricks serve as a lid to protect the original sections. Overall, this fortress is mostly a place to stir the imagination. You can imagine the White Horde ruling over the steppes from here and camels and traders coming down the Silk Road. See more..
