  11. 5.0 Annie Mc Ginn's Pub (7 reviews)

    Annie Mc Ginn's Pub image
Annie McGinn’s Pub was bought my her father Hugh McGinn in 1912. The name H. McGinn is still above the door. The pub is a quaint traditional Irish Pub located in Newbliss, a small rural village in Co. Monaghan. Annie & her brother Michael ran the pub for many years & Annies nephew Mícheál kept it going after her passing in 2012. The pub has always had a lovely local custom and would also enjoy visits from residents staying at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at Annaghmakerrig. The pub was bought by Kieran & Emily Quigley in March 2017. They have kept it running and intend to keep the traditional feel to the place. A Piano, along with other instruments have been added to ‘The Kitchen’ where a little jubilee cooker keeps the cosy feel. An extensive gin, whiskey & wine menu are now available alongside a wide range of spirits & beers. The pub opens on the weekend but is available for groups who can book it for events & functions such as Stag & Hen parties, weddings photographs, etc. See more..

  13. 5.0 Lough Mourne Shooting Grounds (5 reviews)
    - Fantastic Facility
    Shooting Ranges
    Lough Mourne Shooting Grounds image
Away for the weekend with my wife and wanted to do something she would never willingly do. So took her to this shooting range. She was not happy! I chose Loughmourne as it gives the opportunity to shoot a 9mm pistol. Our instructor was Allen. He immediately put my wife at ease. We went into the modern covered shooting range to fire the pistol. I was a Glock 17 with 15 in the clip. We were taught all safety requirements prior to shooting and Allen was meticulous with all aspects of safety. Firing the pistol was exciting and my wife to her own surprise really enjoyed it- she never believed she would. This is all down to Allen putting her at ease. We then went on to clay pigeon shooting. Everything you would expect with multiple trajectory clays for a range of shooting. My wife enjoyed this even more than the pistol and wasn't bad at all! Again Allen was an excellent instructor and safety was paramount the whole time. It was a great experience and we will go back again! See more..
