Stop on the way and collect walnuts (in September). One should not collect anything in the park. Let the taxi wait for 3-4 hours and walk the marked path. See more..

Visited this church today. Quite a steep walk even from the car park. Definitely not for the physically challenged. The church is very beautiful and when you reach the forecourt there are stunning views of Batumi and the port area. There are beautiful mosaics on you way to the church. You enter the church and all is peaceful. Again beautiful mosaics - I pointed my camera to take a photo and up popped this most aggressive nun. She really looked quite terrifying - like she’s been trained by the country’s elite commando unit. Delete that photo she yelled twice, and then asked if I spoke English. What an unpleasant old woman. Still, it’s a nice church apart from the nun. We live and learn. There’s no photography here - the only church I have been to in Georgia that forbids it. See more..

We arrived to Batumi from Kutaisi as a group of a one day organized tour. The walking part in the city is nice and to be honest I could imagine to stay there muck longer than the tour allowed us. The beach part is very nice and the statue to see how they kisses and hugs each other it really touches me. Also you have a nice view of the city center with all modern buildings. I spent 2 days hiking in Kintrishi during June, 2018 and absolutely loved it. A word of warning: Kintrishi is not easy to get to. Even in the summer, it's a good 3-4 hours in a 4X4 vehicle to get there. The drive, however, is gorgeous and will take you along winding mountain roads from where you can see clear streams, waterfalls and horses walking along the roadside. Visiting Svaneti, a province with a very reach history, was one of the best experiences we have had in Georgia! I think that was a very bright idea to take a guided tour to Svaneti. Without the tour we could hardly visit so many places as we did! The trip has started early in the morning and finished late in the evening. For little children it can be quite hard to have such a long day but our almost 6-year-old daughter has enjoyed it a lot! Most of all our family liked taking the cable car in Mestia - the views from the top were incredible! I can hardly describe it with words, just take a look at the pictures we have taken to understand that this place is really worth visiting! ;-) For me that was also great to see the Enguri hydroelectric power station. I have spent my childhood near the Volga hydroelectric station that's why this topic is so interesting to me. In such kind of places you understand how powerful the cooperation of the nature and a human can be! I recommend everybody to take an excursion to Svaneti, this will be unforgettable! ;-) See more..

My friends and I rented a car in Tbilisi and headed to Batumi, the resort town southwest on the Black Sea. We wanted to do and get some information from the Borjomi National Park visitors centre and so decided to take the more southern road through to Batumi. Google Maps didn't tell us what we thought was a "highway" was a rough dirt road up a crazy mountain, down a valley, and laden with cows, landslides, and waterfalls. It took us 5 hours to go 100km! An epic adventure and actually made the trip to Batumi worthwhile (I wasn't overly impressed with the city otherwise). Make sure you have a vehicle with high clearance and good suspension. And bring plenty of patience! See more..
