   While Ahti Karjalainen was a figure in Finland's politics in the 60¨s and 70's, his politics and achievements give no reason for a shrine. How he in his early years and family lived might be of interest... A well preserved glimpse into a past era. Kudos for that. But a waste of my time. See more..

   Castle Brahe (also known as Brahelinna and Brahenlinna) was built in the 17th century. Nowadays there are only ruins there. Still visible are the surrounding wall together with the magazine and the foundations of the castle, which the National Board of Antiquities has conserved. This attraction is an interesting piece of Finnish history but there are many old castles which are in much better condition in Finland. If you visit Ristiina, visit also Brahelinna, which is located almost in the center. But don't drive a long way because of this. You can park your car in the yard of the old wooden Gränna house and walk onto the hill where Brahelinna is situated. See more..

   Sahanlahden pihassa on nähtävissä useita siirtolohkareita mitkä maallikon silmin näyttävät tavallisilta pihakiviltä ja kalliolta, mutta ovat kuitenkin niitä jääkauden tekosia nämäkin. Mikään erityinen nähtävyyshän tämä ei ole, mutta kokonaisuutena Sahanlahti on kyllä käymisen arvoinen paikka, vaikka sitten kahvitellen tai ruokaillen. See more..
