The ruins of Castle Brahe from the 17th century
Castle Brahe (also known as Brahelinna and Brahenlinna) was built in the 17th century. Nowadays there are only ruins there. Still visible are the surrounding wall together with the magazine and the foundations of the castle, which the National Board of Antiquities has conserved. This attraction is an interesting piece of Finnish history but there are many old castles which are in much better condition in Finland. If you visit Ristiina, visit also Brahelinna, which is located almost in the center. But don't drive a long way because of this. You can park your car in the yard of the old wooden Gränna house and walk onto the hill where Brahelinna is situated.
