Les Abelletes is a Lake located in El Pas de la Casa, a little town in Andorra, just in the border with France. I came here with my 6 years old daughter and we did the excursion from El Pas de la Casa to Abelletes lake with a chairlift and return by walk. She enjoyed a lot walking, playing and running in the mountains. Also, the lake is very beautiful and you can see very nice views with mountains. My daughter enjoyed also a lot here. We playing near the lake, we "climbed" a lot on the rocks, we did a pique-nique, we surrounded all lake and we enter in France (the lake is one of the natural borders between Andorra and France). Here there is a parking, where you can enjoy a lot seeing the wonderful views of the mountains, rivers and lakes in the surroundings. Really, it is a perfect place to stop on road, and relax, walk, eat something or only sit down. We saw the place coming from el Pas de la Casa and we did not expect these amazing views. We went hiking up to this lake knowing that the trail leading to this lake is hidden but we found it and it was really worth it. It was beautiful and from this lake we went on to other lakes through the bushes and boulders. This hike has all the elements, rocks, streams, rivers, bushes, boulders, lakes and refuges. First time we did this hike and boy it was amazing as the pictures speak for themselves. It's not a dangerous hike with no ridges or drops, it gradually going up though it maybe steep for some but it's not a kind of straight up steepness. Bring your sandwiches and loads of water to eat while enjoy the magnificent views of the blue lakes, Forçat lakes and views of Andorran mountain ranges. Good views of Casamanya from Ordino. We went up at one end Angolaster and down at close to car park. There are many paths on this trails, pick the right one depending on how long or how far you want to go. Well marked with yellow dots and signs of indications are everywhere so don't worry. Just bring loads of water in summer months and food, good hiking boots and technical material clothing and you're good to go. See more..

This is an absolutely beautiful lake with a small refuge on the banks. The only issue is to get to this stunning lake you have to climb up Montmalus itself as it on the other side from Grau Roig. If and only if the road is snow free and in dry conditions, why not take the mountain pass into and out of Andorra rather than the tunnel. Stop at the top at an altitude of 2408m and marvel at the views and the fact that you are higher than any place in the UK by over a kilometer. Not as busy as the El Pessons trail but in many ways equally spectacular with a high pass, peak and a beautiful lake. Head up as if you are heading for the El Pessons restaurant then look out for the sign which takes you left at the lake away from most people which will be heading ahead. The climb is fairly gentle until you reach the Col passing the small lake where there is the memorial to the Villadomat boy who died . Then the last bit is fairly steep at the top of the Col where you can hit the peak which is 15 mins up or head down over towards the border where there is a lovely lake and refuge. If not turn round and retrace your steps . It’s high so take warmer closes than you need at the base and water and food. Round trip maybe 5 hours See more..

We went for an easy peasy stroll at Angolasters Lake in Sunday under stunning blue skies and amazing views all around, the lake is halfway frozen but the 2 hours stroll on flat with a bit of hilly parts was what we needed. Some of us had crampons put on since the some parts of the path were icy due to too many people use the path and parts of the trail are not in the sun. So after reading a few reviews we decided to check out this pub. We were greeted by Colin who explained the cocktail menu and the staff specialities. The bar was busy but we were made to feel welcomed and treated like individuals not just another punter. We sampled a number of cocktails and shots from the extensive menu all of which were amazing and we would thoroughly recommend. The pub had a great atmosphere and homely feel more like a local than a holiday resort. We did return the next night and again greeted by Colin who remembered us from the previous night. He saw us looking at the shots and was able to tell us what we had tried already even though he had not served us everytime the previous night, something we were amazed at. This is unlike every other trail in Andorra not well marked from the beginning and the trail markings aren’t that well done particularly on the way up. My tip is park in the Cubil car park and head towards the open restaurant and ask . Or it’s the weekend follow the cars heading towards the restaurant rls Pessons . Also the walk is tricky as there are huge boulders and lots of places to hurt yourself. Despite this it is a magnificent walk up past 7 beautiful lakes from the almost tropical to one still icy at the top. Just be careful ! See more..

This church is close to 1000 years old. That in itself is awesome. The church has a recreation of a medieval art in its chapel. The actual original mural has been moved and is on display in the Catalunyan Museum in Barcelona. Seeing both the church it came from and the preserved mural is really very cool. A very old part of the town of Encamp. The buildings are beautiful and I just love the abundant use of slate stone (slate is super expensive where I live so it’s a strange feeling seeing it used everywhere). The streets are steep and uneven, be careful and wear sensible shoes. I never went up the very steep path to the old church since the stone ”stairs” were slippery due to rain, but the climb up there is probably well worth the effort. The Les Bons area is rather small and on the very outskirts of town, but I really recommend a visit. I’ve been to various mountain villages in different parts of Europe, but the overall design and look of the really old parts here in Andorra, like Les Bons, differ from what I’ve seen elsewhere. /Mia from Eslöv, Sweden See more..

8 lakes one after another....in summer the bottom one is pretty warm near the restaurant to one which in July can still be frozen. The round trip takes maybe 5 hours at a gentle base. One of the best walks In Andorra but can be busy at the weekends but thins out beyond maybe lake 4. Park at the Cubil car park it’s not that easy to find but just ask. Truly. We got filmed in Pas last year and it was the best thing we have ever done on a skiing holiday, it was such a good laugh dressing up as teletubbies and being filmed on the mountain, everybody was stopping us to get photos with us. Deano was our cameraman, he is such a good lad taking us to some really great places and always looking for jumps for us to do. I would highly recommend this if you are heading out to pas this year. I booked our group of 8 for only 30 euros each at a bar called Milwaukee. We all got a dvd each and the whole bar was roaring with laughter when we watched it back that night. See more..
