  1. 5.0 Estany de la Nou (12 reviews)
    - Estany de la Nou / Andorra la Vella
    Hiking Trails
    Estany de la Nou image
It is a difficult route because of the difficulty in starting point and the considerable gap that has, more than 1,000 meters. Part of the route follows the GRP signals and passes through the Claror refuge. To access the trailhead, take the road to La Comella (CS-101) from Andorra la Vella and leave the car in a small parking lot it is a little above the km 4. From there we will take a path of ascent to the valley and the col de Prat Primer, passing the refuge of the same name. Behind the quiet, we begin the descent towards Roges ponds and Claror refuge. From this point, we have to follow signs to the GRP towards the lake Nou. The water of this lake, unlike other lakes of the Pyrenees, is not cold at all, since it is nourished by groundwater flowing through the subsoil. See more..

See more..

[ING]Casa de la Vall is the ancient seat of the General Council: Andorra'sparliament. The building is emblematic for its historicalignificance. In 1419, an inter-parochial organization known as the Land Council wasratified. This was subsequently to become the General Council of theValleys of Andorra. The house was built in 1580 by the Busquets family. It was acquiredin 1702 by the General Council. The layout of the building is quadrangular with three galleries, in the style of the country houses of Catalan noble families. The main facade has both the current coat of arms of Andorra and the old one (from after the 14th century) and some interesting defensive features: embrasure, tower and machicolations. The building was restored in 1962.The gardens have a dovecot tower, a boundary cross and contemporary commemorative sculptures.[ESP]La Casa de la Vall es la antigua sede del Consell General: el parlamento de Andorra. La Noblesse du Temps image
Been here December 2021, the sculpture of Dali was there, it is however small and for me the thing that catches the eye is the Andorra La Vella letters which are illuminated at night. It is however one of those things that you see and take photos in 2 minutes and then move forward. Not much to see! Very near all the shopping streets of Andorra. See more..
  7. 4.5 Santa Coloma Church (124 reviews)

    Santa Coloma Church image
Open from 15 July to 15 September. [ING]This pre-Romanesque building houses a rectangular nave with a woodenframed ceiling and a quadrangular apse. The circular Lombard belfry wasadded in the 12th century and is one of the few examples of its kind in the Pyrenees. The building was decorated with 12th-century Romanesque mural paintings by the master painter of Santa Coloma. These paintings left the country in 1930,and were recovered by the Andorran Government in 2007.At present, only the Agnus Dei flanked by two angels and the geometricdecoration framing the overhanging arch remain in the church. The church preserves a polychrome wood statue of Our Lady of the Remedies (12th to 13th centuries) and a Baroque altarpiece (18th-century) dedicated to Saint Coloma, the church's patron saint. The church's location means visitors can enjoy Santa Coloma old town with its traditional buildings, as well as Els Russos tower, designed by Cesar Martinell, of modernist style an example of Andorra's granite architecture. You can easily visit Andorra and think the capital is just perfume and alcohol shops plus sports retailers and fashion outlets all in a fairly modern brutalist architectural style and if you don’t look up you can be anywhere. This is the opposite it is the gem of the capital..it’s cool ...it’s quiet and there are quaint little bars and a few shops and restaurants...miss it at your peril.... See more..
  11. 4.5 Rec del Sola (43 reviews)
    - Great walking path with vistas of the valley
    Hiking Trails
    Rec del Sola image
I stumbled upon this trail while out looking for a way into the mountains for a better view of the valley. It's a wonderful trail, with lots of great vistas and benches to rest if need be. The trail seemed to go on forever. I plan to go back and see more of it. I also enjoyed the little irrigation canal next to it and all of the family gardens that I passed along the way. As with so many mountainous communities I've visited over the years, no arable land seems to go to waste. The trail can be accessed from several places, but it's a good hike up to it. If you are not in shape you will be huffing and puffing by the time you get there. See more..

Oficine de Turisme de la Rotonda image
Oficina de Turisme de.la Rotonda is the main tourist office located in Andorra la Vella, the main city in Andorra, the little country in Pyrenees Region between France and Catalonia. It is a very nice house, where you can obtain a lot of information about the city and all Andorra. In fact, the staff recommended us some activities for children (for my 6 years old daughter) like finding Tamarros or some walking routes for all family. Also, they were very friendly, specially with my daughter and she could buy a little wooden tamarro, where you can keep your coins. Really, lovely place, information and staff! See more..

The path of Serrat is a hiking trail of low difficulty of 1.3 km in length. Ideal for a nice walk around different types of plants and trees, without leaving Andorra la Vella. The way of Serrat begins at Comella hostel on the outskirts of Andorra la Vella. Just start walking, we will enter an oak grove with understory of mountain steppe that as we move forward, will become a forest of pubescent oaks. At the end of the route, where converge the path of Serrat and Serrat Blanc, we find the majestic birch with four branches. Upriver we arrive at the sports center of the Serradells, the end of our stage and beginning of other routes like the way Costa and Rec de l'Obac. See more..

A bit of a walk from the main downtown area, it had several items of interest. The Casa de la Vall is located towards the end with a large square per se; outside the Vall, there is a sculpture “La Dansa” where it shows a boy and a girl dancing. Across from the Vall, you can walk up to what appears to be a trail of sorts and it provides a good vantage point to see the valley. There was an interesting sculpture called the “Trapeze” and of course See more..

Flat space is at a premium in Andorra particularly in the capital and this makes amazing use of the top of a car park. It might not seem much to visitors but the views are amazing. For people living in the city people are able to sit of 365 days a year and socialise. Also many event take place like the huge paella cook out in August . It means a lot to the locals See more..

    Casa de la Vall image
It’s the old parliament and it’s very historic going back the 1500s ( that’s 500 years ago not 3pm in the afternoon !) Around it is a square and when they visited it featured poetry from a Geordie poet who lived in Andorra . Close by is a great viewing point behind the car park and it’s in the very small but very attractive old part of the town where there are really nice little bars and shops away from the bustle. It’s a very easy walk in Andorran terms with minimal climbing and you don’t need to leave the city so no public transport required . There’s an excellent guide book for 6 euros available from the tourist office or you can look this and many other walks up on the visit Andorra website. In the city the tourist office is super helpful and nice and multilingual See more..
