Beach starting to get crowded once more
Alona Beach is said to be the best in Bohol. I have to agree. Clean shoreline. Fine white sand. But now that the economy is opening up , many people are already seen peddling wares such as massage, island hopping, motor water activities. Even Henann has many people offering many items in its location.

Go to Siquijor instead.
We stayed for a few nights at Alona Beach in Bohol, and were somewhat disappointed with this area in general. It was far more touristy and tackier than we had expected and was often overcrowded and noisy. Luckily, we stayed at the Blue Ocean Hotel at the end of the beach which made all quite tolerable. After Alona Beach we took the ferry to Siquijor and had a much nicer stay at the Coco Grove Resort hotel there. We did take up an offer from the many guides pushing trips along the beach and spent the better part of one day with a combination guide and driver showing us around the island. The weather was not the best, but it is really the easiest and most convenient way to do a trip like this. I would probably avoid the larger group tours as the cost for the two of us for the whole day was probably less than $40 just by ourselves. Water activities are pushed on you everywhere, so there is a lot to choose from…but pick carefully.

Beautiful beach but very crowded
I stayed in the Hennan Resort which is on the beach. The water is gorgeous and the sunsets are beautiful, but you can't walk along the beach let alone lie down without being hassled by tour, massage and trinket vendors. Worth a walk through and maybe a quick swim but I wouldn't plan to relax here.
