It was one that we went to unexpectedly, however was the highlight of my trip! The guide who I hate to specify as (the one armed man) was so amazing and hilarious and such an expert in the environment we were in. It had all of us giggling even when we were a little nervous initially. So fun! 100% recommend! *Also we didn’t realise it was customary to tip and we wish you did! 1000x brownie points to him! very nice place to swim with and have an adventure holding on the rocks during High Tide, water is quiet deeper. An Entrance fee at the area of P5.00 and an additional fee of P70.00 per head at Timubo Cave... Life jacket is free, but it was not always offered automatically... If you ask for it, you will be provided with the free life Jacket... See more..
  4. 4.5 Sohoton Cave (56 reviews)
    - amazing
    Caverns & Caves
    Sohoton Cave image
We have been to a number of caves in our lives both in the United States and abroad. Sohoton ranks very high. The thing about Sohoton that really captivates is the ride out there. We boarded a boat in Basey town and rode the hour long trip up the Golden River to the caves. On the way we passed by a number of local "barangays" (towns). The towns we passed and the people we saw made the trip even more special. The tour guide spoke really good english---I think that he was a local college student. He answered all of our questions and really gave us a good tour. After Sohoton we traveled to the Natural Bridge. If you have time after exploring the cave I encourage you to visit the Natural Bridge See more..
  5. 3.5 Paraiso Cave (42 reviews)
    - Intimate little cave
    Spent < 1 hour Caverns & Caves
    Paraiso Cave image
Paraiso was the first of three cave that we visited on Camotes. I recommend you also see it first on your list as it is the smallest. If you see it after the much grander Bukilat cave, you may be disappointed. My girlfriend and I were lucky to have the cave to ourselves for a good half an hour. It was our first experience of swimming in a limestone cave. The water inside is tidal and was about shoulder high when we were there. It was lovely and quiet and quite surreal. Recommend to do it on a weekday as I imagine it would get crowded on a weekend. See more..

  7. 4.0 Holy Crystal Cave (33 reviews)
    - The crystals and stalactites are growing...
    Caverns & Caves
    Holy Crystal Cave image
The care taker of this cave tour us around the 11 levels of the cave - "The Holy Crystal Cave". Though, the cave holes are not quite big, it so amazing to see the crystaline-like speleothems growing. Not sure if the bones of humans (?) are authentic and really been found in this cave? I was so impressed with Mr. Formentira who managed the cave and do not allowed anybody to destroyed any part of it. Thanks also to him for not allowing lightings inside cave - to protect the speleothems. There are times that the holes are just enough for one person to get inside but its worth... the real spelunking. Try it! See more..
  8. 4.0 Lamanok Caves (30 reviews)
    - Perfect place for some hiking, scary stories, and beautiful views
    Caverns & Caves
    Lamanok Caves image
Where to start, I went on our anniversary which is on the 31st of October (Halloween), it is the perfect place to hear about the local legends and a bit of the history of the area. Just a little hard to get around without the proper beach shoes or hiking shoes but otherwise the tour was amazing. Only one man can handle the job of being your guide, Manong Fortunato. (He was featured on TV) See more..
  9. 5.0 Lobo Cave (16 reviews)
    - Caving & camping Lobo Cave
    Caverns & Caves
    Lobo Cave image
We are a family of 4 (children ages 8 & 12) and we went for a 2 days trip to Lobo Cave with Joni@trexplore. Everything related to these 2 days was amazing and fun - the hike to and from the cave, exploring the cave itself with its beautiful interior (including an underground river, waterfalls and much more), camping, excellent food and evenly important Joni’s professional and knowledgeable guidance! Both us and the children had a wonderful time. An additional bonus, for whoever is interested, is Joni’s homestay in Catbalogan. Staying with Joni’s family and their outstanding hospitality was a great experience and we enjoyed talking, eating and cooking together. It felt like home :-) If you like to stir away from the crowds and get off the beaten track, i would highly recommend Joni and Trexplore - there are many adventurous and interesting things to do (you can check on Trexplore’s excellent website) See more..

  12. 5.0 Calbiga Caves (8 reviews)
    - Enormous cave
    Caverns & Caves
    Calbiga Caves image
The biggest cave I've ever explored with a small entrance to get inside. There are lots of stalactites and stalagmites so that you have to be careful in climbing up and down as we explore the whole cave. I saw a podium like formation of a rock and the area was so wide it's like floor stadium. I saw a small river at the end corner of the cave. The adventure was an advantage for me because in climbing up and down the cave i sweat a lot its like exercise to me. See more..
  13. 5.0 Central Cave (4 reviews)

    Central Cave image
One of the extreme adventures I did in Catbalogan. The whole adventure ( trekking for 3 hours to central cave, getting in and out of the cave and the tour inside the cave ) was such an awesome experience. I will never forget this caving adventure. I highly recommended sir Joni Bonifacio as your guide for this adventure if you go caving in Central Cave. See more..

  15. 4.5 Buho Ramirez Cave (4 reviews)
    - Mini underground river
    Caverns & Caves
    Buho Ramirez Cave image
Buho Ramirez Cave is also called Baras Cave. It is one of our itineraries in the island hopping tour. During low tide, a small boat can dock inside the cave. For me, it is a mini underground river (like that of Palawan's famous undeground river), which is home to many fruit bats. The rock formations inside the cave with the roofed stalagmites and stalactites rocks are nice attractions inside. The water inside the cave is not too shallow or deep and you can take a dip on its cool clear water. It also has two entrances inside the cave which is a delight among tourists. See more..
  16. 4.5 Linao Cave (3 reviews)
    - Nice little adventure to this gem with crystal clear water
Spent More than 3 hours Caverns & Caves
    Linao Cave image
This cave is a little gem. After paying the tiny entrance fee of just 15 pesos it's only a short and easy walk to the entrance of the cave. To get to the lagoon one first needs to pass about 100 meters through another cave (bring your flashlight) and wade through waste deep water balancing on a horizontal pole while holding a rope. Advised to wear shoes to protect your feet from the sharp rocks. The actual lagoon is really pretty with crystal clear water that begs for a swim. Try to have it all for yourself without other people around. Only downside is the rubbish left behind by previous unresponsible visitors. My advise is to double the entrance fee and use the money to pay for a daily (or at least weekly) clean up of the area). See more..

The cave is still genuine not having people visiting inside. The full path for my first experience was for along a total of 250metres after that I didn't try to push myself more for an evident reducing of the side walls.Need care in the walking and most of the trail is in the torrent.Need headlight and good shoes the visit.Inside full of bats and guado.Need a visit. No for kids. 19. 2.0 Giwanon Cave (1 review)
    - Not a cave but a sinkhole/swimming hole !
    Caverns & Caves
    Giwanon Cave image
Not developped at all, no signs but if you ask many people along the way and persevere, you will find it like we did. Seemed used by locals as we saw plenty of trash left after Easter WE :( Not too appealing so we did not swim altho the water was clear. See more..
