A great starting point for exploring Brasov
Council Square (a.k.a. Piața Sfatului) is in the heart of old town. Brașov was an important local and international trading center in medieval times; Piața Sfatului has been holding weekly markets since 1364. The former Council House (Casa Sfatului; built in 1420) is in the middle of the square and is now the Brașov County Museum of History. The square is a good starting point for exploring the old town. A great fire destroyed most of the former walled city in 1689; it took several decades to rebuild. Piața Sfatului is surrounded by 18th-19th century houses, historic sights, museums, indoor and outdoor terraces, shops and restaurants. The square and surrounding streets are accessible at all times with no entry fee. Landmarks are beautifully lit at night.

Amazing City & Place
One of the most beautiful places in Brasov, a place full of history and culture. Although we were in transit to Iași, it was practically irresistible the idea of not visiting this wonderful place, full of tourists from all over the country and not only. One thing I must point out, namely that if you are with your own car is a bit difficult with parking in the central area.Instead you have signs that warn you of the possibility of parking in the area.E.g. that of the hospital or look on the adjacent streets downstream of the square Parking is paid except on Sundays. I full of terraces and restaurants , places where you can enjoy a beer or an ice cream. A lively town... worth a visit
