Best Place to Buy "Seafood"

Actually, I come to Paotere for hunting photo.. hehehe.. But I also buy some fishes, shrimps, and calamari for our lunch. Very nice to see early morning activities of fishermen and the buyers at the TPI (tempat pelelangan ikan) or fish market. The price is very cheap and you will get very fresh fish and their friends ^_^. Compare to Muara Angke, Jakarta, you will be surprised and envy with the price and quality of the fish here!

    Working port
    It's interesting to see the trading boats built locally based of the the design of Arab boats going back hundreds of years. They still carry goods to the remote islands and are working vessels. Not a lot to see there but still worth a look. We spent a couple of hours there climbing over the boats & talking to crew.

    Afternoon visit filled with boats
    I nearly did not bother going until a friendly old rickshaw pedlar swayed me back again. Glad he did 15 minute cycle from the fort. Stopped off at fish market first and had some friendly banter with fishermen boasting about the ones that did not get away and then onto the harbour which was filled with a variety if vessels which collectively offered you a rainbow of colour. Some good photos to be had for an entrance of Rs5000. If you have time to fill in Makassar it is worth doing along with the fort and the boardwalk at Losari beach. None though are outstanding when compared to the rest Sulawesi has to offer. Thanks for the vote if you found this helpful.
