The butterfly park
I went to this park and then I read the reviews here on trip advisor, especially the negative ones. I don't agree with them. There are live butterflies here, many of them. I spotted some. The area where the most butterflies are was to crowded with kids trying to catch them so I did not bother going over there but there were dozens of butterflies flying around. The park is nice and when I was there did look maintained. If you have kids this is a great place to take them if they enjoy playing in water the waterfall is great. This price for admission is higher for foreigners but I paid the local price because I had an Indonesian friend with me not a tour guide. That helps. Still it's not that much more. Bantimurung does not mean butterflies it's simply the name of the park.

Average waterfalls
We came here from Lake Tempe and it was a refreshing interlude from Sulawesi heat. The place is nice but is also popular with locals, having city breaks and pic-nics, so it can get overcrowded at week-ends. Luckily we went there on Friday, so it was a nice experience. The waterfall is a pleasant place where most people use to do natural water massage ! It is not so spectacular as Madakaripura waterfalls in Java but is good enough. There is a lot of concrete around, concrete paths, concrete handrails, too much in our opinion. But it's ok as long as you spend few hours there. From the main waterfall a concrete path starts, that leads, after 20 minutes of plain walk to a secondary waterfall with a nice pond in front of it where you could swim. Unfortunately access to it is prevented, because the pond is dangerous and in the past accidents occurred. So, no way. But there is a nice cave with some stalactites and stalagmites that you can visit next to the waterfall, bring a torch light, you will need it, unless you want to rent one from the locals. These waterfalls used to be very rich with butterflies, but now most of them are unfortunately playing the role of souvenirs ...

The Butterfly Park
It's not as good as before when it was established for the first time. It's dirty and has a few butterflies around. There are waterfall and caves around. It's little bit dirty and crowded. You need to pay for the ticket and also for parking.
