The Park located an hour away from downtown Bandung. The Scenery Road was refreshing, seeing those Vegetables and Strawberries Farm was deliciously. The Entry was Rp 100k for a car and two passangers, to go to the Crater will cost another 100k (up to 5 persons) for a Mandatory Tour Guide to the Crater. And not including another 'small' parking fee on the Top that should be included?! This is one of the most expensive National Park in Indonesia. Surely not a cheap one!See more..

I did mount sumbing climbing with my individual tour guide, Mr. Abdul, accompanied by my two porters. We started our journey from basecamp in Mangli , which is situated high 1400++ MASL. 15minute ride on motorcycle transfer on bumpy narrow path to the beginning point , among pine trees, we started hiking thourgh pos 2 within 1 hour walk , then stopped for lunch , with hot coffee. After pos 2, its path to pos3 , sunrise campsite , is more steep , upto more than 2000 MASL . Arriving before sunset, we stayed overnight there in tent with freezy cold temperatureof 11degree celcius at midnight. At3am, it’s time to do our mission to reach sejarti summit to indulge ourselves with view of the sunrise with backdrop of mt. Sumbing crater. It took another 3hours with much steeply high path upto the summit . It’s less crowded there at the summit . There were 4 indonesians ahead of our group at the top , we enjoyed 360 degree view of sunrise above sea of clouds and Mt. Son doro from farsight. Onnthe way down to the basecamp , we passed crowds of hikers on the up direction onnSaturday. That completed my wonderful 2D1N trip on Mt Sumbing.See more..

Absolutely beautiful and well preserved/ clean. I attempted a midnight - sunrise hike to the summit with a local guide but only made it to check point 3 as I was very exhausted - partly due to lack of sleep and because I had a cold. Unfortunately you can't see the sunset from checkpoint but it was still beautiful and I have no regrets. Although it was January I got to see the moon and there were some stars. I also saw my first ever shooting star! Be warned, although Weqas is the fastest route it is challenging as most of the route is at a steep incline. Take your time and plan for lots of breaks. I am quite fit but I suppose I'm not experienced with challenging hikes at a speed. I hope to come back better prepared one day!! Enjoy. NOTE: ensure you have registered 24-48 hours in advance. Puncak Tugu Batara Sriten , berada di Pilangrejo, Nglipar , Gunung kidul merupakan puncak yg terdapat embung atau danau buatan dan gardu pandang untuk bisa melihat pemandangan yg spectacular dan menakjubkan, sampai waduk Jombor di Klaten bisa terlihat dari sini, untuk menuju kesini siapkan kendaraan anda dgn kondisi prima terutama rem , kopling karena tanjakan nya yg lumayan extreme dengan kemiringan lebih dari 60 derajat , jika masih amatir dalam mengendarai mobil , tidak disarankan untuk kesini . dan kondisi jalan yg masih berbatu batu dan sempit perlu jadi perhatian khusus. Tapi sesampai nya disini anda akan disuguhkan dengan pemandangan yg luar biasa indah apalagi saat cuaca sedang cerah. bisa dibilang ini adalah puncak sikunir nya Gunung Kidul . gunakan topi dan kacamata saat kesini karena lumayan panas kalo siang.See more..
