4.5Diamond Head State Monument(24.1k reviews) - Amazing views! Friday: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM Spent < 1 hour Hiking Trails • Scenic Walking Areas
This dormant volcano crater is one of Honolulu’s major natural landmarks, known for its history, amazing hikes, and stunning coastal views. The way to the summit is an easy-to-moderate hike up—though there's a steep flight of steps—and you'll be treated to some of the best views on the island. There are also many lookouts surrounding the crater. If you have limited mobility, don't worry, multiple other hikes within the park are accessibility friendly. It can get busy (and hot!) so try to reach early in the morning and bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Online reservations are required for non-residents but are often included in guided tours of Diamond Head. – TripadvisorSee more..
4.5Makapuu Lighthouse Trail(2.636 reviews) - Steep climb but the views are worth it! Friday: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Spent More than 3 hours Historic Walking Areas • Hiking Trails
Makapuu Lighthouse Trail is one of Oahu's most popular coastal hiking trails on its southeastern coast, offering spectacular views of the Kaiwi State Scenic Shoreline. You'll get to see landmarks like Koko Crater, Makapuu Beach, and even the offshore islands Molokai and Lanai on a clear day. There's also the iconic red Makapuu Lighthouse built in 1909 which you can see along the way. Bring a pair of binoculars to spot seabirds and migrating humpback whales from November to May. This uphill trail is about two miles long and is well-paved throughout, making it a manageable trek for families with children. – TripadvisorSee more..

We loved riding the paved Kauai bike path during our vacation. Unfortunately, I can't tell you the name of the bike rental shop we hired our bikes from as there was no name for the shop front and the owner said they don't actually want to go on Trip Advisor. However, we did hire our bikes easily for 2 hours near a car park facing the beach along the path, and it cost approximately $60 for our family of four. The coastline is really beautiful and it was an easy ride for our family. As other people said we simply wished this paved path was a longer distance. We highly recommend riding the Kauai Path!See more..
4.5Munro Trail(63 reviews) - What a fiasco! Hiking Trails
This hike is supposed to be 12.3 miles and by the time we were done it was 19 miles! The trail is by the cemetery behind Koele Lodge. The signs point to Koloiki Ridge Trail so we knew that was a branch off trail from the Munro. However, there were many different trails without signs! We had to hike the Koloiki Ridge since we were here so we did that and we were not disappointed. We now had to find the Munro Trail and we finally found it at 1:30. We saw a sign as we walked about 800 meters so we knew we were finally on it. It’s just a 4x4 road and now that I did the whole thing I would tell people it was very boring! There was a lot of cloud cover so we didn’t see much and the last 4 miles were very long and boring. I would suggest the Koloiki Ridge Trail. The Munro Trail is off limits to vehicles so that is the one nice thing about the trail. I wouldn’t want to hike and share the road with off road vehicles.See more..
My friend and I did this hike and totally love the breathtaking view at the end of this hike. One can see Molokai and Maui. The hike is not hard or long as it is on a 4x4 road. I highly suggest doing this 5 mile round trip hike.See more..
