Amazing views!
This dormant volcano crater is one of Honolulu’s major natural landmarks, known for its history, amazing hikes, and stunning coastal views. The way to the summit is an easy-to-moderate hike up—though there's a steep flight of steps—and you'll be treated to some of the best views on the island. There are also many lookouts surrounding the crater. If you have limited mobility, don't worry, multiple other hikes within the park are accessibility friendly. It can get busy (and hot!) so try to reach early in the morning and bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Online reservations are required for non-residents but are often included in guided tours of Diamond Head. – Tripadvisor

Amazing views!
Cool walk up the side of a volcano to some amazing views with some great history. The website made the walk sound hard but it was super easy for me (25minutes up). Those from NZ who are used to doing hiking will find this super easy. Recommend going early in morning so you beat the heat & see the sun coming up. You can Uber from Waikiki to the diamond head tunnel for about $12-14 USD & then I walked back to Waikiki afterwards - was a long walk but down hill or flat and lots to explore so if you’re into that makes it cheaper. Make sure you register online using the official website - you must have a prepared registration. Great morning had!

Crowded hike, nice views from summit
Had reservations for 8:00-9:00am entry. You currently need reservations to enter on foot ($5) or park (additional fee). The hike to the main observation point was not too challenging, 30-40 minutes to the top. It was very, very crowded though, making it difficult to navigate the stairs and observation areas. Path is very uneven in areas, still navigable but could be challenging for folks with limited mobility. Paths were particularly crowded near the start of reservation times (e.g., 8:00am, 9:00am). A better strategy may be to start hike 30 minutes after reservation start time (e.g., 8:30am, 9:30am) to avoid some of the worst crowding. The park is assessible by short bus trip from Waikiki for those who do not have a car or cannot get parking reservation.
