As a letterpress printer I am biased, but...

Walk into the printing press and the Plantin-Moretus family home as though you were a family friend paying a visit 400 years ago. Explore the house, the garden and the press in the only museum in the world on the UNESCO World Heritage list. - the two oldest printing presses in the world and more than 20.000 lead letters - 30.000 old books, illustrated manuscripts and other treasures of European printing - a beautiful baroque garden hidden within the walls of the museum

Perhaps the best "home" museums I've ever seen
What an amazing experience. This is a museum of printing history combined with a museum of a family's life, both done incredibly well. Everything is so well preserved, with numerous original printing presses and their forms and letters in their original places, an incredible family library, fascinating work and family rooms and interesting displays, all set in a beautiful home. I was captivated by this museum and am eager to return as we had to shoo out too quickly as we only had arrived at 4:00 and so only had an hour to enjoy the museum.

    Great value for money
The entrance ticket was cheap and I was expecting a fairly small museum, but actually it was quite extensive and comprehensive. It provided a fascinating insight into both life in Antwerp during the early modern period, as well as life in the printing industry. The museum also houses a genuine Gutenberg bible
