Great city

The historic center of Bruges has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 thanks to its status as one of the commercial and cultural capitals of Europe and its enduring Gothic architecture. The Belgian city center is cited as a great example of a medieval historic settlement, even while it has evolved over the years.

The Reason People Go to Bruges
The historic center of Brugge is easily accessed from Brussels so train loads of tourist descend on the city during the day. The historic centre is the highlight. But I'd also make the effort to get a little further from the center. It'll be a little quieter and a little less commercial.

    Fantastic experience
It was so pleasant just to sit on the patios of Brew Pubs and enjoy the scenery, and fine beer. Highly recommend cruising the canals in the longboats, well worth the small cost. The commentary by the boat pilots was most interesting and was offered in several languages to accommodate variety of tourists. So so enjoyable just to walk the area, people watch and relax....
