Echo Bridge is one of the best kept secrets in West Suburban Boston. Walking across its Promenade and through the trails of Hemlock Gorge makes the visitor feel transported to an earlier era of clanging water-driven mills in a colonial village by the Charles River. Be sure to visit the echo platform on the Newton side to appreciate from whence this 1876 bridge gets its name. See more..

This tries to be just a toy store, yet it is so much more than just a toy store. There are many things to play with, to keep you busy. There is a climbing wall dead in the middle of the store, which kids can climb freely, while their parents can check out the artwork made by the local artists of the Needham Artists Collective. Although I would like to see a bit more of a selection of products, the store is overall very pretty and brightens up the Needham Center space and community. See more..

  6. 4.5 Perry Park (3 reviews)
    - Little tykes heaven
    Spent < 1 hour Parks
A cute little green space with a lot going on : like a city park , but in the burbs. Softball in one corner, newish playground in the other, and a concrete pad in the back , ostensibly for basketball. The collection of abandoned Little Tykes cars on the concrete makes you realize two sad facts: plastic lasts forever, but being three years old does not. Enjoy it ! See more..

  8. 4.0 Claxton Field (2 reviews)
    - Solid ball field, but make sure you get the 1st base bench
    Spent < 1 hour Parks
The ball field is pretty good. It's deep enough that every ball isn't going to e a home run, but at the same time you can play ball there and still have fun. The only piece of advice i can give is to get the 1st base bench....it gets in the shade much sooner than the 3rd base one does. See more..

    Spent < 1 hour Parks • Playgrounds
