    THE PROMISE is a one-of-a-kind musical production performed annually at the Texas Amphitheater in Glen Rose, Texas. It combines an award winning musical score with a 100-person cast and crew, live animals, historically accurate costumes, and breathtaking lights, sound and special effects, all of which tell the story of the life of Jesus Christ in modern family-friendly fashion. Over the years, The Promise has been performed in Moscow Russia, Branson, Missouri, and Seoul, Korea, all the while maintaining its performances in Glen Rose, TX. In the fall of 2022, The Promise will celebrate 34 consecutive years of performances in Glen Rose. The Texas Amphitheatre stage has forty foot walls and arches that tower above a 4,000 square foot tri-level stage. A 45,000 gallon waterway, which runs the length of the structure, separates the stage from the seating area.     We enjoyed walking around the park and reading the different plaques at each location. We had our kids (10, 6 and 4) that enjoyed running to each spot and having us read to them. There is also a playground here that is pretty fun and the kids spent a good 30 minutes entertained on it. See more..
