4 Star Places To Visit in Flagler Beach, Florida, United States (12)

  1. 4.5 Flagler Beach Municipal Pier (346 reviews)
    - Nice pier especially for $1 with free parking.

I was raised in Pismo Beach, CA where walking on the long pier is a nightly after dinner event. The Flagler Pier is not long or at least not by Pismo Beach standards, but it is well maintained and as a senior only costs $1. Lots of people were bottom fishing with bait, but we didn’t see any fish being caught. One interesting thing is many of the planks where you walk on the pier have engraving such as memorializing a loved one. I posted some pics showing the carved planks. Cool pier and if I lived here I’d be a regular visitor. See more..
  2. 4.5 Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area (232 reviews)
    - Always a great place to camp
    State Parks

We were lucky enough to get in on the beach side of the road. The sites inland are good for people who want it quieter ( no sounds of road traffic or ocean waves) or who want less sand tracking in, or a bit more space. All sites are good. The staff and volunteers are so good, taking care of the park and the sites and the interesting programs. Lots to do in the area too. Flagler Beach is a nice town, just North and Ormond and Daytona Beach is just south of here. It’s not always easy to get a spot here, but we like it. See more..

I did not find this lovely place until my last day in Flagler Beach! I would have been here every single day had I known it existed! Such an insanely beautiful place. Being at such peace with your surroundings is incredibly good for the soul! We saw wood storks, egrets, heron, cormorant, and even a majestic bald eagle. Kudos to whomever maintains this lovely nature walk. I highly recommend this! (Oh, and note that dogs on leash are welcome, but it IS a boardwalk & there's no place to go if you meet an oncoming dog.) See more..

    - Fabulous sports facilities & boardwalk
    Parks
    Wadsworth Park image
Wadsworth Park is a little gem, and I sure am glad we had the time to pay it a visit. The short walk along the boardwalk is definitely worthwhile, and we spotted loads of terrapins (different species too), and a few alligators - all of which seemed to be following our every move. Perhaps they’ve been fed a few morsels by previous visitors, that they associated us with food, or maybe as potential food... ;) See more..
  9. 4.0 North Peninsula State Park (22 reviews)
    - Pretty, but do not forget your bug spray!

    North Peninsula State Park image
We went to North Peninsula State Park on a slightly wet day. Not thinking the bugs would be too bad. We were so very wrong! Despite having been eaten alive, we still enjoyed our walk around. It was very tranquil & quiet the day we went. With the rain, parts of the trail were a little flooded, we could still walk them though, albeit carefully. See more..

If you're driving along A1A in Flagler Beach, FL definitely take the time to stop in. They had great items - good quality and prices were surprisingly low. It was a refreshing change from the things you see over and over again at the big souvenir stores in the area. The staff was very friendly and gave me a free gift before I even spent a dime! I will definitely visit again when I'm in the area. See more..
