Great place! The Likarish family is delightful. This is truly a family business. Easy to find location, great 90-minute tour that includes some about the history or wine making, cognac and the sister city relationship between Denison and Cognac, as well as the great TV Munson and his work to save winemaking in Texas (and France). Educational when to comes to understanding how whiskey is made, lots about different kinds of corn, a visit to the barrel room (smell that angel’s share!) and of course some tasting. Highly recommend and thanks Likarish family! See more..

Our Fort Worth wine club had a great adventure at Hidden Hangar We had a van of Winers do a tasting at this winery. It was the most interesting of the day. Stormy told us about the history of the winery and how they grow all the grapes that are used in the wines. The tasting was of our choice of wines beautifully displayed. All were good and of course we Found our favorites. We all bought bottles to take home. Thank you Stormy and the staff. Their hospitality was above and beyond. HeyDay - Denison image
Great place to go for entire day of activities with adults and/or children. We took five children ages four through 13 and 5 adults. We all had a wonderful time playing. Be bowled one game for the children and three games for the adults. Miniature golf took quite a while as we split up and each of us took one child and started like a scramble on the miniature golf. We created 2 teams and played laser tag. Even the small children had a great time playing tag. The climbing structure that 7 of us played on kept us busy, relied on balance, and was safe with safety ropes. With a snack bar included we were able to spend 7 hours there. The kids came home entirely worn out. The 4 year old took a 5-Hour nap and woke up to play. The staff was extremely attentive. We went on a Thursday and it was not crowded. See more..

    - Phenomenal Gallery!
Sunday: Spent 1-2 hours Art Galleries
A wide range of styles, subjects, mediums, and prices, but all amazing works. Mark Keathley was my personal favorite. I could totally lose myself in any of his paintings. Enjoyed talking to the owners...I was made to feel welcome and comfortable... And they freely shared some of their personal stories. The gallery has comfortable seating so you can stay awhile and immerse yourself in the art. This shop alone was worth the trip to downtown Denison. Highly recommended whether you make a purchase or not. See more..

It's almost like the ocean on a hot day with the cool spray and splash and waves lapping against the shore. There is even a slight salty scent in the air. The powerful water is mesmorizing. We'd never been before and visited both sides of the river. The Oklahoma side has a platform by the spillway where you can feel the cool spray and see and hear the forceful water up close. See more..

Compact well laid out museum. History starts at Revolutionary War and progresses through our nations history to the present; with of course emphasis on aviation and Perrin AFB. So much is packed in and so well explained by the friendly docents who readily answered our questions. Everything is under one roof so the tour was easy and comfortable. Aviation buffs will want to spend extra time but children might not. One static aircraft display. Also while leaving I spotted a WWII Marine F4U Corsair taxiing on the runway. Very cool. See more..

    Homestead Winery at Denison image
The wine was all very good. I had a sample of four delicious wines for just $10. Cheryl was the very friendly and loquacious wine host, who told interesting and entertaining stories about the history of the local area. I also had the pleasure of meeting the daughter of the owner, very impressive in her own right. It was great to hear about the dedication of the current brew meister, brewing tasty concoctions until the wee hours of the morning. Although Denton, TX is a charming town, this establishment is by far the jewel. It’s a must visit for whatever your taste, be it beer, wine, or Italian food. See more..

    - Surprisingly good Sunday Brunch!
    Spent 2-3 hours Golf Courses
Denison Golf & Country Club image
Had heard that Denison Country Club was now doing a Sunday brunch so my wife and I went to check it out. Brunch opens at 10:00 am and goes into the afternoon. This club was recently purchased and is under new management. There are not many places locally to find a Sunday brunch, so we were pleased to hear they were now doing it. I must say I was very surprised at the selection of food, the appearance, the affordable price, and how many people were there. By the time we left 3/4 of the tables were full. The brunch includes a wide array of breakfast items, fruit and salads, fish, chicken, and a carving table with several meats. Very nice desert options as well. At $15, a real deal! Folks were very nice, and the view looking out over the golf course and lake was great. Highly recommend it! See more..
